The message and the symbolism of this song according to what I believe is that man’s wisdom is flawed and those who believe in another man is cursed we all have this fight within the battle with the forces of darkness. The Bible says cursed is the man who believes in another man and this will lead to a flawed foundation because man wants to twist the truth. Man blocks salvation knowingly and and unknowingly trusting in the raw truth of man will lead to the path of darkness. Holding the hand that holds me down means forgiving man despite his fall and it symbolizes the battle against darkness and lack of forgiveness. Hatred etc.
