Coming from a huge breaking Benjamin fan I feel like dark before dawn had its own kinda unique riffs but because some of their songs are soft in that album and not a lot of their songs are this one sounds similar but I mean I kinda agree I still think it’s it’s own unique thing tho I feel like every album Ben is still Ben when many artists change up every album

I don't mind the version with the guest vocal but hearing Ben duet with himself is far better - he sounds so much better on his own!

Really love the way he sings "When the waters turn to fire." Ben's voice never disappoints. 🤘

@@brentmarttinen9690 Adam's voice is so more powerful, he can sing whatever he wants and it'll sound good. I just imagine Ben's voice for the music gender he actually sings, while Adam has sang Rock, Hard Rock, Metal songs, acoustic (with raspy and not raspy, he uses two different techniques of singing, something that Ben hasn't do yet). Ben can growl but Adam can scream (false chord/fry scream), something like Chester Bennington's screams. I love both of them soooo much but Adam's voice is in another level

@@rafogameplays3321 I love Adam's voice, but he needs production. Doubt me? Go look up Saint Asonia's Octane Unleaded performance. Adam is sadly not great live. Adam thrives with production and multiple takes. Ben, on the other hand, is great live. I have seen them both in concert and can tell you from experience. None of them compare to Chris Cornell though...RIP

@@RootedInReality Well, Ben since 2015 is not so good live, he can't take control of his voice and sounds bad. Even when BB invited Adam to sing their songs live, Adam dominated the show, only Aaron saves the concert with his melodies. This year Ben enhanced his voice and sounds great. Adam has like 2 years without singing live, give him time and you'll hear his real voice. Also, Adam is fat now, he gets out of breath constantly jajaja xD

I am a fan of Cold and love the version WITH Scooter on it but I am a LIFE LONG Fan of Ben's voice so I can't help but love this one just a bit more!!

Love it obviously. Breaking Benjamin is my all time favorite band. That said, I gotta take the version with Scooter. I am a big fan of Cold, and hearing my favorite singer collab with Scooter is an early christmas present. Their voices combined give the song that extra edge.

I live Breaking Ben, but no offense to anyone- but in this version, the parts the scooter had that were replaced with more Ben, sound like rough draft audio, like a little scratchy. Basically like peices from a rough draft version crafted into the final version of the song that has scooter In it.... Can't think of a better pair that I've heard with either band... Maybe the song with scooter and the female singer (so sorry can't remember the name of top!) Called "you got away" but cold is my all time fav. Band ever. Just not diggin the new new stuff as much as I was anticipating to sadly. Win some ya lose some but Ben and Scoot is a fkn a right doggy winning team. Don't agree, disbeleive it, or disagree ?? Go get ya ears excavated then immediately go find a $200 set of over the ear headphones, and listen to 13 ways to bleed on stage and yr of the 🕷️. I'm resting my case.... One last thing, never said it was better than Ben! Two different types of songwriters that make altho sometimes few similarities, very different genres so I can't just say ones better then the other. I think if everyone would agree to that statement, I'd sleep easier tonight.

I will always be so grateful that I got this version. I remember when this song was being released, I was waiting at my laptop constantly hitting refresh on iTunes to buy it the second it released. Well, it did. And I was confused at first because for some reason, all I heard was Ben's voice. I listened to it over and over trying to hear Scooter's voice, and I couldnt. Then the next day when they were promoting it I realized somehow iTunes messed up and sold me this version, which they seem to have corrected that error now. But this version is so much better!

Imagine if a paranormal mystery show had four seasons. The first three seasons has the original version with Scooter as the theme. But in the season three finale, one of two lead detectives dies. And the final season has this version as the theme. Would be pretty cool and chilling.

Yeah for some reason when I preordered the album, this was the version that automatically downloaded and when I heard it I only heard Ben and thought it was odd. Then I go watch the music video and it’s completely different. So I deleted and re-downloaded it and it was the version with Scooter. Pretty odd

@@Antman324 Well you have to understand that this version was most likely never meant to be out in the public. You can hear it in the quality of the track itself, its great but still.. raw, in a way. The songs were made with the intent to have the guest singers, apart from the few songs in the album that don't have any and are just his vocals, so it makes sense that Apple Music, Google Music, Spotify or really any music place are more than likely going to sell the version that is meant to be out there. KZread is different since its not selling anything and these are user posted. Same with any other video or file sharing place out there. Personally I think both versions are fantastic.

I'm torn (in two). I like the duet version, but Ben's vocals blend with Scooters so much, I have a hard time telling their voices apart. They do sound great together, but I love Ben's vocals alone as well. At this point I don't know which version is my favorite.

It's weird. I noticed that It was ONLY ben's voice the Friday it was released on iTunes, and now going back to and listening to it, it both Ben and Scooter. Might of just been a mistake on their part. either way, I'm glad to have both versions.

I agree I honestly have never heard of cold before but listening to this and the version with Scooter man Scooters voice with Bens is just incredible.

I believe this version is on the CD of the album. I prefer the one with Scooter but love both versions either way!

MegasXLR it was released on accident when it came out on ITunes so I’m assuming they got it off there

I sat here listening through the song twice 10 seconds at a time back to back with the version with scooter, and it just sounds like the down tones of scooters voice are lower, but sounds almost identical. Did you just adjust the sound files?

Nope. It was released like this on two platforms but then after about 12 hours, it was fixed and replaced with the only version you can buy. I didn't edit the vocals.

I also like the Timothy books and Romans keeps popping up in my head...it's all good. this song is beautiful in so many ways...but the best part of it? the piano down there in the lower register; that's nearly at A-sharp 0. You don't hear that very much in rock, in particular.

Unfortunately it has been pulled from all digital stores. The only way you'd be able to get it is from somebody who has the file. Alternatively you can use a a KZread to MP3 converter to get a decent quality rip.

I guess the original video was removed for some unknown reason.

It was on amazon music too for a little bit and I downloaded that one without knowing. But now I have both versions on my phone and I re-labeled the mp3 file of the one with just Ben's vocals to "Far Away (Alternate Vocal Version)" and listed it as a bonus track 11 XD

Thought the version with Scooter would be better but it isn't

Is this version available to buy anywhere? Clearly it was at some point...but not sure where to look as it seems most platforms have "corrected" the error...but man I love this version.

IMO this is a an EXCELLENT example of why my guy SCOOTER WARD is next level and severely under rated. Not a big fan of the most recent album but everything else is just raw emotion with bleed, then 🕷️ and then pain! My fav albums of all time. n2m TK&TS was super dope and unique. One of the 2 latest albums were decent, with the cover song "dream on" that was pretty on pt for me. But the latest newest release I just haven't felt that same connection with. The sounds, the lyrics, they just don't infiltrate the souls of the cold army like the older stuff. But artists grow and are entitled to change and create however and whenever they like, I'm happy they don't try to repeat ANYTHING like putting it on re-run or remix old stuff just to sell out. ANYWAYS my main point is the duet is as 🔥 as it gets, if anyone says the (w/o scooter version) is better....?? I mean shit- we can squab it out?

Tha Deakon Cold doesn’t have 6 Platnium albums like what?!?!? You can’t base success on it? Then what can you base it on? Scooters Voice is second tier to Bens... like I can’t believe we’re even discussing this.. I never said Cold was bad, I like a couple of their songs but this is just laughable I’m sorry.. Try to sing like scooter and I’ll bet it’ll be a lot closer than if you try to imitate Ben.. his vocal range is about x2 as large as 🛴 sorry try again. Year of the Spider was a good album and I’m sure “poser” fans know about that album too lol.. But yeah Ember takes a shit on that albums chest and that’s saying something.

This is way better than the Scooter Ward version. I don't think Scooter's voices meshes all that well with Ben's.

I would absolutely love to hear this song done by Benjamin and Shawn Morgan from Seether. That would be such a masterpiece.
