i think its really up to you, the way they write their songs gives the listener the opportunity to creatively interpret the song on their own. which is one of the reasons this band is absolutely badass

All wrong... My thinking thoughts on these lyrics is about a personal relationship problem and even though he wants to ignore but she is always in his mind he loves her but in his own way telling her to go away until shes figuring herself out and dealing with pain/ anger when she clears the smoke away comeback he needs her. It Make sense to me.. There's many ways to interpret this song.. Could also be about a problem with someone close not just a relationship issues but maybe family friend ect....

He is singing about God reaching out to him, trying to bring him to salvation. Read the lyrics carefully, it is actually a very powerful song once you make the connection.
