The look of forgiveness on Jesse's face before he takes off just made me well up inside. After everything, Walt was still able to communicate to Jesse just how important he was to him and Jesse saw that. What a great combination of writing and acting from all involved.

I think the silent acting in this show is by far one of it's best features. Notice how throughout the entire series we never need to hear what's going on inside a characters mind, rather we're shown by little details what they're feeling. Whenever I watch shows where everything is so directly explained to the viewer I get annoyed because I know how much better it can be done.

I feel like “baby blue” also symbolizes how Walt felt about meth, at the end it was not about money business anymore for him, it was about him being the king of meth, about having the recognition that the one and only Heisenberg was the one that came up with that pure meth. The way that he succeed at the end, getting revenge for Hank, providing money for his family, not only saving Jesse but knowing that he succeeded as a chemist and a teacher for Jesse, since Jesse was making pure meth. And most importantly how he got rid of his enemies at the end, including Lydia. He even defeated cancer at the end, since cancer didn’t get to kill him but his own bullet did. He died knowing that he succeeded.

I find this ending so poetic in many ways and I just can't stop loving it. 1. Walter is back where he began, the lab 2. Walter looks at the gas mask and notices how Jesse, even in captivity, had safety as a priority, something Walter tried getting Jesse to do in the first episode 3. Walter finally taught someone something 4. He is back at the place where he felt truly alive, despite his destructive talent. My only criticism was that the build up was too easy. In reality, Walter faced minor difficulties. But, I guess he is a genius after all. He used his knowledge to an advantage. Gosh bless

Towards the end of the show I was already heartbroken because I realized there was no way the two could have a happy ending after everything, but that final nod of respect and forgiveness means so much. The amount of depth and history these characters have is unreal, and that final shot of Walt falling down and dying in the lab is perfect. He tied up all the lose ends, and he won.

From the way I look at it the series emphasizes if you want to see who a man really is give him power.. and when walter had a taste of power he started to realize his potential. And the show asks us two questions. What makes a man bad? His ambitions or the decisions he makes? In the end Walter was so driven by his ambitions that he lost sight of what he claimed he was doing it for (his family) towards the end consumed with his newfound wealth. It costed him something far more valuable. His family.

People act as if it's wrong for us to still love Walt, despite all he's done. Even Vince Gilligan thinks you should hate him by the end of the show, but we still don't, and I'll tell you why. We love Walt because he's human, he is flawed, so horribly flawed. But he often did the right thing, or at least what he thought was the right thing. We want so desperately for him to do the right thing as we watch his soul, and empathy slip away. Only for him to pull it back, and try to right his wrongs, and help the people he hurt. He's not a hero, he's a man who lost himself to the darkness of greed, and hubris, only to claw himself back into the light in what little time he had left. Redemption? Not by a long shot, he cannot be redeemed, but he tried, and that's all you can ever do.

Like maybe I'm insane but I thought Walt was a bad person since season 2, he is just egomaniacal and delusional to think drug bussiness is the place to be an entrepenaur without getting yourself or loved ones, killed. I do not see anything relatable to Walt appart from "sick person can't afford healthcare" even though this plotpoint is resolved pretty early on. But apart from that, I enjoy the shitshow this man provokes just to satisfy himself.

Despite what you may think, this ending isn't really much of a spoiler. I'd recommend you check it out. Up to you though, very long show

I like to think Vince Gilligan was riding in an RV one day and baby blue by bad finger came on and he just built a show around it…

I can hear baby blue on the radio...or look it up on its own and not by moved...in any way...but when I watch this scene it becomes so powerful, so profound

surprised nobody mentioned this but walter sacrificed himself for jesse. he perfectly calculated where he would need to be to kill everyone in that room and survive but when he saw jesse he decided to save him of course at the expense of himself. the song baby blue can even be interpreted as a message to jesse and of course his blue sky “kept you waiting there too long my love”

I’m rewatching the show now and just finished“four days” from the second season. First time I watched this show was in 2020. I loved it right away. Walt achieved his goals in the end. His family is set for life, he finally taught Jesse chemistry seeing how Jesse knows how to make pure meth now, all his enemies and rivals are dead, and he’ll be remembered as the greatest American kingpin.

This entire show, from start to finish, is just perfection. A masterpiece in screenwriting. One of the few shows that I think doesn’t have a bad or irrelevant season. Every episode mattered and they didn’t draw the show out unnecessarily. Vince Gilligan had a story to tell and he told it, and ended the series on a high note. BB is no doubt one of the greatest television shows ever made.

One of the hardest things for any show to do is successfully stick the landing, Vince Gilligan will always have my utmost praise for pulling off such a perfect ending where so many others failed.

I truly believed what he told skyler… he only thought he had months to live and he lived longer and was truly alive in the sense that he stopped being a pushover and became a boss of bosses. 10/10 ending

I love the symbolism of his death being a self-inflicted gun shot. Walter White’s greatest enemy truly was himself.

He definitely got the kinda victory he deserved. His final fate was going to be death anyways but he ended up leaving money for his family. He cleared his family's name by giving the location of the dead bodies. Plus most importantly he got the recognition and attention he deserved even if that was the wrong one. The only thing that went wrong was the death of Hank.

@@therock3640 I don't think that's necessarily true. Obviously he didn't love Hank quite as much as his immediate family but he still seemed to care about him quite a lot. There's a video somewhere, set before the events BrBa. It shows there I think

Ten years later, and I still reflect upon the series, and especially upon this final episode and scene, as one of the most satisfying in which I have ever invested my viewing time! So many "serials" from my younger years such as "The Guns of Will Sonnet" and "Shenandoah" were, frustratingly, cancelled and never resolved to this viewer's satisfaction. I nearly avoided, despite the praise I was hearing, investing my time in watching "Breaking Bad." I am so glad that I caved to temptation after retirement! Thank you, Vince Gilligan, for a thoroughly engaging story-line well concluded!

One of the finest tv shows I have ever watched. Nothing will top my favourites list ever. And I am saying this while I finished the show in 2016 and haven't watched it since.
