Russian is my mothertongue, but I didn't understand a word they said. Also, not in the Soviet times, but in the newly established Russian Federatioh in the 90s we practically lived in the Breaking Bad show. Drugs and crime were abundant. Still are, actually.
I actually watched a documentary on drug manufacturing in 90s russia and there literally was a teacher and a student making drugs using university equipment. Except obviously they werent as successful and got caught easily. They were dealing with Finland btw

Yeah except the quality of that healthcare wasn't that good. Soviet dental care is the reason why many russian people have a childhood fear of going to a dentist, and I don't think the Soviet healthcare system had a cancer treatment that's as effective as the one in US. Comrade Belov would have died, sadly.
