I had the rare privilege of meeting Janet in person when I was a kid (11 yrs old, 1977) when the Rex Nelon Singers were just starting out and came to our home church in Hendersonville, NC. They flat brought the house down and there was standing room only. My parents led the music ministry at our church and I was the young church drummer. I shamelessly flirted with Janet and Kelly Nelon (God rest her dear soul) and they were both just SO kind, sweet, patient, funny and playful with me and I never forgot that. But it was clear to me even then that as sweet and kind as she was/is, Janet was absolutely no-nonsense. Behind that billion dollar smile of hers, there is absolutely nothing fake or contrived about her at all whatsoever and she seems to have very little patience with "bull stuff." lol Marvelous woman!

Bill and Janet are the real deal in both spirit and music. God please bless them pressed down, shaken together and running over in Jesus name!

Janet is one of my favorite singers. Her voice is very unique...she brings me joy..and she loved Ms Dottie Rambo who has been my hero since I was a young girl.

I met Janet many years ago (probably late 70's- early 80's) when I was singing first tenor for Teddy Huffam and the Gems and she was a member of the Rex Nelon Singers. A more gracious and loving woman does not exist on the earth! I purchased all of her music and I have been a fan every since! God bless you, Janet.

The Gaither Vidoes are so uplifting,I have them all.

This was amazing! I just love Janet Paschal! She has always been one of my favorite artists. So happy to know she will be on the Alaska Cruise next year. Can't wait to see her again. She is definitely the real deal. And such a great singer!!!

Yes Bill, I get the complexities of the harmonics and outstanding arrangements of gvb. That is what sets you apart from all the hum drum heard it all before music.

Bill, I know of at least one that has truly appreciated not just the harmony but the logic of how you use it to arrange the harmonies for your vocal bands... ME!!!! Honestly, I have been trying to find the vocal arrangement scores to some of your songs for years. However, the flip side is you set the bar so high on vocal arrangement that a if basic Southern Gospel quartet stays within the "Musical theory" of harmony, it bores me. It is to predictable. To my ears, your arrangements lack that predictability. And that is what makes it SO enjoyable. I would love to learn how you arrange the vocal band's songs like your take on the Christmas Song on the Time For Joy DVD is just one of the many examples if I had the opportunity to pick your brain. It is the way you make vocals blend that has drawn my ears to your music for years. It is ever so appreciated! I thank the LORD whenever I get to hear the gifts He has given to us exercised publicly where I can enjoy them from miles away! May the LORD continue blessing you and Gloria and your ministry to His body.

I appreciate your view on death because it tells me as someone just 2 years your junior, that my life as a missionary to Thailand and Cambodia, and all that transpired within the 50 plus years in which my wife and I worked as church planter's, we can now look forward to heaven with much anticipation. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, and I feel fulfilled having completed the work Christ gave me to do. What you said in your discussion with Janet resonates with me also, because it brings to mind your song called "each day is like heaven, my cup overflows..." Your words express it well, therefore if we never meet on earth, I surely want to see you in heaven and there you and I can talk the ages through!!

i have met janet and along with her sister to caribbean cruise we had so much commets and good time and bad time. i am glad she is my good friends i ever had....

Janet is a true blessing and so amazing

I have always enjoyed not only her musical gift, but also her sense of integrity. In this time of "tell-all's" and expose-for-money, her choice to be completely silent about her former boss has spoken volumes and really should be followed more closely in our day.

I have no idea why I thought Janet would be, how shall I say, "uppity"?? I am so sorry I thought this! What a sweet spirit!

@ Joe Momma - It's a shock that you would think such a thing. If you've ever watched her sing and radiate love via her singing, you would never have thought that about her. So sorry you wasted any time at all thinking those dark thoughts about Janet - but glad you know the truth now.

Harmony is the second reason I love Christian Music, the First reason is Jesus Christ His Love!

First time I heard her was when she toured with Jimmy Swaggart. Back in the middle 80's

@ HeartH'S-Tones - I'm not surprised. She left Swaggart before the ugliness could tarnish her ministry, thank goodness!! So did John Starnes - good for them!! If I were her, I'd cringe at the thought of having to talk about those years. She's such a devoted follower of Christ - I'm sure all of that garbage was traumatic to her.
