When you walk into Tasting Table at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, the first thing you'll notice is how spacious and bright it feels, thanks to the high ceilings and open layout. But honestly, as nice as the indoor seating is, you'll want to grab a spot outside. Breakfast with your feet in the sand and a view of the lagoon is just unbeatable.
The service is super quick and friendly. You barely have to wait to get seated, and the staff is always ready to refill your drink as soon as it's half empty. They make you feel pretty special without going over the top.
🤯 MIND-BLOWING SERVICE MOMENT 🤯
On the first day of our week stay, we mentioned that we love mango sticky rice, and asked if they had it. They didn't know the recipe so they contacted another hotel in the Maldives and learned how to make it. Just for us.
And then... it was on our plates every morning after that when we sat down for breakfast. Without us every asking for it.
Mind-blowing service.
THE BUFFET
The buffet is seriously impressive. It’s got everything-loads of antipasti, smoked fish, cheeses, and a whole range of breakfast dishes from different parts of the world. The bacon is perfectly crispy, hash browns are crunchy, and even the mushrooms are cooked just right, without being watery. If you're trying to keep things healthy, there are plenty of options for that too.
Besides the buffet, there's also an extra menu you can order from. I tried the avocado toast, french toast and the Maldivian omelet, both were solid choices.
Coffee lovers will appreciate this place-they serve some of the best cappuccinos and iced lattes. If you take your coffee seriously, you'll give their brews top marks.
The noodle bar is a highlight with its variety of noodles and soups each morning. And if you like starting your day with a bit of a buzz, the free-flowing mimosas with Taittinger Champagne are a treat.
My personal favorites? The pastries. These are better than pastries I've had in Paris or Belgium.
FREE WITH STATUS
The breakfast is complimentary for Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members, which is an incredible perk. The place also shifts into a beachside dining spot in the evening, but breakfast is the real highlight here. It runs from 7 to 10:30 am, and it’s worth waking up for.
HOW WE SAVED MONEY EACH MORNING
We timed it so that we'd arrive around 9:45am every day and I ended up eating so much for breakfast each day that I skipped lunch and just waited for dinner. That's how good and filling the breakfast is.
Overall, Tasting Table offers an exceptional breakfast experience that’s hard to beat. If you’re in the Maldives, it’s a must-visit for an indulgent start to your day. It's more than just food; it's a full-on experience that’s worth every bit of the hype. In fact, I want to go back just for the buffet!
