Breakfast at Tiffany's ❤️ Episode 12- Super Simple Table Runner

Today we will be making a Super Simple Table Runner
Supplies Needed:
Focal/Main Fabric 1/2 Yard
Sashing & First Border 1/2 Yard
Second Border 1/3 Yard
Backing 1 1/2 Yard
Big Scrap of Batting
1/3 Yard Binding (can use sashing/border fabric to bind with for a clean look. If so you need 2/3 of a yard total of Sashing/Border 1 Fabric)
Will make a 20.5" x 48" Table Runner.
Cutting Instructions:
Focal/Main cut 2- 7" strips then turn and sub cut both into a total of 8- 7" x 10" rectangles
Sashing cut 2 Full length 1.5" strips (depending on WOF you may need to use scrap from next cut)
Sashing cut 4- 1.5" strips sub cut 1 strip into 4- 10" x 1.5" rectangles
From remaining 3 strips cut 5- 14.5" strips. (Use remainder for the first top and bottom border if needed.)
For Second Border cut 4- 2.5" strips
Sewing:
Sew 4- 7" x 10" rectangle to a 1.5"x 10" rectangle
Then Sew on a 7" x 10" rectangle to the other side of the 1.5" x 10" piece.
Now stitch 1- 1.5" x 14.5" strip to the right side of each 14.5" x 7" rectangle
Add the 5th remaining 14.5" strip to the left side of one of the units.
Now Sew the pieces together as shown in video.
Once unit is made its time to add your remaining 2- 1.5 full length strips to the top and bottom of the table runner. Note: You may need to add to the length if your strip is not long enough.
Now take your 4 second border strips and sew them end to end. Then add to the top and bottom of the table runner by measuring your length and cutting that off your sewn strips. Then add the sides which should be about 20.25".
Now add 1.5 yard for your back. Quilt up and you need about 1/3 yard or 4- 2.5" strips for your binding.
Bind and Enjoy!

I have donated my hair to wigs for kids for years (they don’t charge for them like locks of love does). My hair is also baby fine. They told me it doesn’t matter because it gets added to other hair from multiple people to make the wigs. It’s a really good cause. I was not happy when I found out that locks of love charges for the wigs.

That's the one we planned to use is wigs for kids. When Cyrus was alive and growing his hair out to donate, we looked at so many places. Then found wigs for kids because they offer free wigs. So that will be the place we use. But I am gonna go really long before I donate. I think my girls are going for the 12" length.

Quilting was awesome. My sister has an older machine and putting a quilt on it takes about an hour because it is pinned top and bottom on 1st and 3rd bar, then batting is pinned on 1 st bar and tucked under the middle bar and hang loose over 3rd bar then top piece is pinned to first bar and pinned on middle bar and then they are rolled up and smoothed as you roll locked in place. Machine is drove from the back side following a printed paper on the ledge in front of the bars using a stylus that follows the lines on the paper. You are pushing and pulling the machine as you go sideways down the quilt. You can make 2 passes before you roll it up so you can start again. You have no control over the speed except to go slower which doesn’t work well. Wish we had a newer one. lol but we are 73 and 74 when we have birthdays in November and December.

I stopped all that pinning years ago when I had gotten the Red Snappers. Now it's easier. I did try the stylist and track thing. I didn't like it and sold it. Sorry yours seems like such a hassle to load a quilt. I'd put front handles on to not have to do the track anymore. Also you can try to float your tops and batting which saves time.

I have been watching on computer. My niece set me up for TV watching. I just watched for the first time on bigscreen. Just love the way you two work together. It is amazing, how fast and accurate you cut and sew your items. Keep up the great work. Stay cool. Here in KY, it has been and predicted to be up in the 90degree or hotter in the up coming week.
