I like this kind of design, but then again I'm a sucker for tri winged based vehicles in Star Wars. although the funny thing about this is that the cockpit looks like a smiling face. it kind of reminds me of The Laughing Man logo from Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex in that it looks like eyes & a smile. unfortunately, I can't look at this ship and not giggle at that face. it's such a happy ship. XD

With no shields is a good idea to make up for it by having a Jedi at the helm controls!! 😮

Definitely. A pretty odd choice to not have shields of any kind, especially on a lightly armed shuttle.

Totally! It even looks more imperial, with the color scheme and the heavier body style pretty reflective of the lambda class.

Wondered who piloted it to Mandalore that time.. a trusted servant who knew Palpatine was a Sith Lord.. or a droid pilot like Dooku used in AOTC!? 🤔

I haven't seen anyone talking about the potential connections between these instances of the shuttle and the one we see being used by Baylin & Shin in the 'Ahsoka' series trailer. It's definitely a modified version a la Palpatine's 'Republic Executive Shuttle'... just sayin' 🤔🤗😏

I love the design of this nimble shuttle - no doubt. Corresponds well with the ideology of the Jedi. However, the first thing I always wondered when I saw this thing landing was how it remained standing upright. The ramp seems to function as a third landing "leg", but it looks pretty weak for that purpose. Or does it have a repulsor module to keep it upright while it is parked? Also, just imagine this on a windy planet. So much attack surface for wind! If you have seen how a truck driver has to "fight" to control his truck while driving over a bridge with heavy winds coming from the side, then you know what I mean... ;-)

There are several ship designs that don't really make practical sense with physics, but maybe they have special movie magic plot armor. ;)

@@hyperspacedatabase I guess you are right - let‘s be honest: A Lambda shuttle is also not particularly space- or air-worthy. It‘s wings won’t create much lift in an atmosphere and have no real purpose in space... but it looks kind of cool... 😉

@@hyperspacedatabase Indeed, it its fictional. So I guess we have to be lenient... and enjoy the beauty of starships that nobody would build! 😆 I guess that comes from reading too much Honor Harrington from David Weber. He does a good job "selling" you how things work and look like in his universe. E.g. all warships have similar features given the physics of propulsion/weapons/battle doctrine etc. that dictate them. Great read by the way if you are interested.

I think quite a few of the Legends shuttles had landing gear, maybe trying to give a little practical look to a sci-fi ship. Lol, that would be super funny to see a shuttle waddle around like that!

@@hyperspacedatabase I'm pretty sure most shuttle craft sized ships had landing gear of some sort. What surprises me about the Eta is that it only has TWO. 🤔 I am assuming that the ship had to have been equipped with repulser coils or maybe some sort of gravity/anti-gravity stabilising tech to help it balance on just the two legs. It must have been top heavy with those large wings locked in the upright position. Whatever was used, I would gladly have ripped it out, install some shields in its place and add a third landing gear for stability.
