I´m not sure, if Your familiar with rewinds. The origin of rewinds goes back decades in Jamaican sound system culture... late 60’s... When a tune drops that rips everything apart, especially when it´s new and haeavy or a dublate noone else is playing, then the crowd calls for a rewind to hear it again. Nowadays DJs do rewinds even when the crowd isn´t asking for it. Rewinds can easyly be overdone. Especially some Jumpup-DJs are known to rewind every 2-3 tracks. Break uses little spinbacks as a transition effect - I wouldn´t call this a rewind, as he doesn´t stop the track and starts it from the beginning. And yes, spinbacks can be annoying too If You overdo it......
