I missed when I was young, when my mom still alive, watching TV, listening to radio with this type if songs. Time passed so fast and I can only remember the memories before. If there’s time machine it’s the first thing I would do.

I am nostalgic and loved the 70s & 80s for music but my father was terminally ill and I lost my best friend in him. RIP. I also had 2 really good friends and lived life despite what was occurring.

I'm 71. This song makes my heart ache in a good way. Memories!

I’m so glad to find so many young old souls. ❤ my dad raised me on Bread, now I’m raising my kids on this treasure. Timeless.

I was just a kid at a province back then, my gradpa always play this song to his radio. Nostalgia is running in to my whole system, good memories that I'll treasure forever.

i worked in a pizza parlor back then. after we closed we "jacked" open the juke box and this song would make me melt. the proverbial "good ole days". i'm 79. talk about nostalgia.

This was the last song my mother listened to before we rushed her to the hospital, where she passed away two days ago. I was too preoccupied with my personal affairs to pay any attention to her when she was still alive. Everyone who still has their parents should treasure every moment they have with them, as they may not be around forever. Please forgive me for all my shortcomings. I love you, Mom.

this song reminds me of my father-in-law...who passed away last march 17,2021. this is one of song he played by his guitar.. and most of the time he sung this. i honor you papa as my second father and respect all your advice...until we meet again...

When i was a child my father always playing this song in guitar every morning such a nostalgic days ,and now I'm the one who's playing it every morning

I always remember one person who I got to talk to about emotions and random things when this song plays. He became my lover for a while. Even if our friendship was cut short, he have a small spot in my heart that will never be erased. We saw each other vulnerability in times when we were both in the stage of moving on. Until one day, I saw his fb account and saw that he finally found the ONE and got married. It was a bit of a shock, but felt so happy for him to finally settle and live a life that he always longed for.

In 1981, the college I attended held Friday night dances, which were well-attended. The DJ always, mostly for kicks, would encourage people to come up and sing. Most were horrid alcohol-induced debacles, but one night a young lady came up and sang this song so well that it left the usual raucous crowd in utter silence until she finished with the ultimate "AWAAAYYYY", whereupon the place erupted in applause and cheers. She brought the house down. Not sure what this has to do with anything, but this song always has me recalling this snippet in time...

I graduated from JC Harmon Highschool in 1974 when this song came out! Now I'm 67 years old and retired!

I remember my grandma sang this while we were at the pier one night when i was younger . we were both staring out into the ocean while she sang this . Ive always remebered this song because that night . Now when i listen to it , it reallly gets me in my feelings . Sadly my grandma just passed last month . i listen to this everyday now 😢

Nobody writes and sings better and more beautiful love songs than Bread..I wore this Album out along with the band America. I miss the 70's and 80's..I want to go back to those simple and fun filled, innocent days..

My parents used to play this song. It's hard to play this song again coz it's reminds me the moments were I'm happy the most. Old songs kept reminding me that we had stage in life were we used to be happy with our love ones. Only old songs can do that bcoz the lyrics were brilliant and good.

I am currently obsessed with this song (well, for a month now actually) and I am trying to learn how to play this on Kalimba. When I get married, I want to sing this song on my wedding day and hopefully, my soon-to-be husband would know that there are really no words to explain how I feel for him and the song is just but a tiny speck of how much I love him.

i remember the days that my grandmother always play this in her radio, every day this was the first song that plays, every time. i miss her, hope i can go back home soon.♥️

I used to love this song in the 70s. I would sing it with my guitar and loved the words & melody. Fast forward 10 years and sheepishly after a troubled marriage of 11 years, a bit skeptically, I surrendered control of my life to Jesus little knowing how my life would quite instantly change. He changed my heart & softened it making me a more caring person. I've known God, Jesus and Holy Spirit the past 45 years & eventually became a close relationship & sometimes I would sing these words to God.

The first time this song played on the radio, I was in high school. I liked the song so much I bought a copy of it on a 45 disk record. The music of the soft guitar and synthesizer always made me smile. Then in 2021, I heard IF again playing over the radio on my way by car to an outdoor memorial service for my late wife who had passed away from Covid the year before. This time the song made me cry. IF I could feel her soft face just one more time, I would tell her how much she meant to me, how my heart still beats with love for her to this day, and what a grey, lonely world it has been without her.

This song reminds me of my first love because when we were together, we always play this song, but I accepted our love story outcomes that there's a person that has been part of your life or it is a temporary person that puts a lesson in your life and will have a special place in your heart.

Toni, I miss you more than words can possibly express. You were the love of my life, but I was too young to understand just how much you meant to me at that time in my life. I've never found true love again. Here I am many years later, still missing you, still in love with you and I still wonder "what if"... I got married, had children and settled into the life I currently live, but if only I could have yesterday back, knowing what I now know, I would have done anything to have your by side today.
