I am talking about the intricacies of fluid dynamics as they relate to the natural order of things. In layman's terms, think of it this way. Rivers do not run in straight lines, or suddenly decide to drain into the ocean.

​@@johnharrison2511 This happens all over the world. There's a popular spot in California (Newport I think?), and Waimea bay in Oahu does this as well. The lake or river will eventually break through the sand and end up doing exactly what the boys in the video did. The next day, that spot will be totally back to normal like it never happened.

i would assume a river or anybody of water close enough that it can connect to the ocean via a small cannal would be salty

Holy crap this video got a lot of ignorant negative comments!! First, those dogs were never in danger or even stressed by their little swim. Even if they got swept into the ocean they would still be completely fine. They’re obviously used to the beach and used to swimming. Secondly, they are not harming the beach, the lake, the ocean, fish or anything else. If you’ve ever seen a pond or lake separated from the ocean by a sand bar and fed by a creek or river, then you’ve been to a place where this happens naturally and regularly. Pond fills up, begins to overflow, cuts a drainage channel and drains. When it’s done draining, the sides of the chammel cave in and block the drain and the pond fills again. Maybe people need to go play outside again. Almost every comment on here was from people complaining about kids playing outside in a creative and harmless manner. That’s what Karen’s do…

Sorry but if was salty water no problem,great because its all related but sweet water its in high demand ,some rivers end in sea but with very litle water ,they open it in purpose ,if was a sweet water its dry now ,and all fish from sweet water will die except salmon if was one.That part of the world its sufering for lack if Rain ,special ,Argentina and Uruguay, rivers are drying ,people are force to drink sea salty waters ,go check ,so this type of fun that destroy rivers shall be persecuted and the ones that do the destruction have to pay heavy fines so they learn the lesson, also everywhere shall be Big signs everywhere in the beach ,saying all that do that will be persecuted heavily.Lula Brasil president its pro nature ,I hope he be strong against the ones that destroy nature just for fun.

What they did was not a natural occurrence by nature...so yes, they are toying with the ecosystem. What happens to the fresh water fish, etc that won't be able to return to fresh water to survive. If you had any sense you would know that. Not a smart move at all.
