They could have, but the Dutch lowered their tempo after two goals were scored. We scored the two goals quicker than the Germans did a few days before, so it possibly could have been 0-10. But we kept a little respect for the host nation.

@@arthurlecomte8950 Germany kept some respect aswell. Müller told the boys during half to time to try and get to 10 goals. Loew however insisted on just taking the win and not humiliating Brazil. Notice how during the second half Both sides just stopped trying and Gotze who came fresh off the bench was the only one actually trying to achieve anything. That one Brazilian goal was given out of respect aswell.

what a team that was! one of my all time favorite was so frustrated they didn't win. hope new Dutch football generation will follow the steps of those legends!

I find it scary, almost disturbing how each time Holland score in this match, you hear nothing but a faint collective shriek from the Brazilian crowd, as they watch their chances of even a medal evaporate. Even in the semi-final where Germany thrashed Brazil, you could still hear cheering from the stands (most likely from the German fans) each time they scored a goal.

Fun Fact: The 3rd Position team are more happier than the 2nd position team in a world cup

Brazilian football exposed it's inability to European football from 2006 world cup, Ronaldo, Romario, Ronaldinho hide it through their superhuman individual skill. Brazil have to have to play 21st century's football by moving on from 20th century star player centric football.

You spoke correctly, but Brazil in friendly wins and still wins from great European teams like Germany and won by 1:0, but in the world cups Brazil is eliminated by a European.

Right now Brazil is in 1930.

One highlight of the game for me was when Vorm was subbed on for the last minutes, meaning that the Dutch were the first to use all 23 players in a World Cup.

So Mexico in 2014 a close 2-1 and extremely close game 0-0 with costa rica loss to neatherlands was better then destroyed by germany and neatherlands 10-1 in 2 games 😂 then again we had a competent coach back then lets go 2022

I mean I do see your point. Winning the third place match gives you a sense of accomplishment while becoming runners up is an outcome of losing in the finals. However then again, as runners up you reached the finals, played it and claimed silver medal so position wise I think runners up is better.

That penalty was a 100% red card. It would have been much worse than 0-3 if that had been given

@@bigboymatthew7471 It should have been a red card. Silva denied a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity. If a player fouls an opposing player who is judged to be in a clear goal scoring position then the player who committed the foul is shown a straight red and is dismissed from the game. It's one of the rules of football.

Yeah, it would have been a straight red card when Robben was facing GK but ref was mercy on Brazil for what happened in Semi final
