Brazil didn't loose any games and went out on penalties after only 90 minutes of play. Sure they could've beaten CR in the first game. I don't think Neymar would've changed anything. Worst mistake was to play Endrick vs Uruguay. He's not ready yet, certainly not as a starter. Too much pressure on such a young kid.

This panel is totally unaware of South American football, soccer if you will. The rivalry between these three nations, Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay goes back over 120 years. It is about winning at all cost, it is about glory and pride and these are things hard to understand for these panelists because they never won anything in the big stage. Lalas should continue telling his audience about his adventures in Milan with Faustino Aspirilla and stay away from discussing Brasil, Argentina and Uruguay. There is one thing that Americans do not know and that is why they do not understand about Rio de la Plata football. When Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil play against each other, there will always be a rough game, it has been like this for 70 to 80 years, it is cultural, they just put everything to win those games, there is a rivalry that goes beyond everything. Is it visually gross to see? Absolutely, but that wont change, and that doesnt mean they dont have quality, they need to show the other it:s gonna be rough the whote game.

Instead of being humble and trying to understand the mentality of the teams that has won so much on the international scene they superimpose their own americanized way of "soccer" thinking that it is best. This interview is nothing else than a clear expression of national exceptionalism where they think they are the gods of football whilst having won nothing of value. The US is like that young dude who starts at your work and after 2 weeks starts correcting you and telling you on how you should do your job. Brazil set a trap and Uruguay bought it. The Brazilian team knew this Uruguayan team could play stylish football during the match and they decided to mudden the water looking forward for Uruguayan to bite the fish hook. And it worked, Uruguay turned to that streetfigher-ish type of play they have since football was invented and the match ended up being a wrestling one, with Brazil waiting to score in a counter-attack. Side note, this type of games between Arg-Bz, Arg-Uru and Bz-Uru are called "classics" and classics in South America are usually this hard in the field, where fair play vanishes. Let's see how it will go in Col-Uru since 🇺🇾 has key losses and it seems many players are really tired, plus Darwin Nuñez tends to lose many opportunities and as the tournament progresses that's a luxury any team cannot afford. Cheers!

What most people don't know about football is that this is how football was played before the sport became a market for the global nouveau riche to freeze their assets in buying football clubs and inflating the player transfer market as an intricate tax evasion scheme. Today football is more about merchandization than club loyaly, pride and honor. I think the problem is rather that they did NOT talk about Uruguay, , which I find very disrespectful. If you are going to get mad, I think you should get mad about THAT. But first and foremost, calm down. Read the other comments: nobody here is screaming or saying things such as "wash your mouth," (which besides being unnecessary aggressive, does not make much sense in English -I'm Uruguayan, so I understand what you mean). Being aggressive and disrespectful is rarely a good way of asking other people to be respectful.

The 7-1 loss against Germany at home in the 2014 world cup is the root cause of the current issues with the Brazil National team. That was not an ordinary defeat. It was like a 7.5 magnitude earthquake which destroyed all the glorious memories that Brazil had achieved on the world stage up until that faithful semi final game. And things haven't been the same for Brazil ever since even with winning the 2019 Copa America.

Take a look at that circle again right before penalties, Bielsa is in the middle giving directions and on the other side Dorival junior is on the outside of the circle raising a finger in objection, then left scratching his head. 7:02 Humility is where this game starts and stops. Militao as he walks up throwing the ball against his shoulder with a look of superiority. Andreas pereira with his snarky Uruguay would dream to have a team like this. Guys never lose respect for your opponent, and always listen to your coach. And to you who say that this was a scrappy match? Its a shame that one of your pundits speaks Spanish and does not clarify what Bielsa actually said and criticized which is not criticizing others or placing himself above others or commenting on the decrease in quality of "Soccer". In that particular conference he was simply pointing out how the the rich leagues of Europe snatch the young talent so early that our football fans back home in south america are left with mediocre leagues and having to settle with a game of lesser quality that that of -say- the champions league. The fact that the US continues recurrently hosting some of the most important Football tournaments while being a nation devoid of any proper silverware or any accolade at all in football history goes to show how finances and money is the governing factor and not quality or principle. The same as a World Cup in Qatar. The hard truth is that in the Americas there are only three National Teams that lifted the World Cup and they are the same three nations that dominated the history of the Copa America as well URU (15) ARG (15) BRA (9). Bielsa criticizes and will likely continue to criticize money and power over principles and defends the value of the game for its socio-political power for our people and the potential that it has and always had to shape our collective identities. The most talented players in the history of the game became that great to fight and escape poverty for them and their families; Maradona, Cristiano, Neymar, Ronaldo, Riquelme, Messi, Ronaldinho, Zlatan, Suarez, Tevez, Pele... And the list goes on.... Is a reality that the average American that takes abundance and overall wealth for granted will hardly understand and is not something that you can buy with money. Yesterday's game was an epic battle. If you found yesterday's game boring, stick to the tailgate parties and go back to baseball which apparently is a lot of fun after the 5th beer. Get your head out of the sand...
