Well no one understands what happened, so here's my dumb cringy theory: Mortis went to Tara, with an old card that Tara gave to Mortis few years ago. He asked her what is that and why she gave it to him. She said it will steer him to his past, and before Mortis realized he doesn't remember anything that happened before Tara gave him that card, Tara opened a black hole with her powers and transferred Mortis to his past, to let him understand what happened to him. present Mortis (I will call him PM) saw Tara transferred him to a forest next to a mine, so ofc he assumed the answers are inside that mine. He entered there and saw a man that really similar to him, and a tanned woman with black shirt and purple hair. It took a very long while for PM to realize that this man was him. behind Past Mortis (PTM) and the tanned woman, he saw board which full of researches, questions and theories, and a bat in a cage. PTM tried to caress the bat (he felt an unexplained attraction to bats) but the bat bited him. PTM complained to the tanned woman (TW) about that, but she said everything is fine and except for bleeding for a while nothing serious will happen to PTM. He was very mad about it cuz TW probably couldn't understand how painful is it when a bat bites u. But all of the anger disappeared when he saw TW's daughter. Even tho TW is an old friend, he liked TW's daughter more than TW herself. TW's daughter was mysterious but very cute in PTM's opinion. So out of nowhere, she gave PTM a card, saying this card will lead him to his past and to his future. PTM thought it's just kids shit, so he took the card and didn't spend a lot of time looking at it. Not only cuz he thought none of it is real, but cuz he heard someing.... *crack!* He could hear the mine collapsing, sounds like a very dangerous earthquake. Nervous, he put TW's daughter on a cart of one of the mine workers to save her. Then he went to tell TW about what's happening and that they should get out of here as well, he was also about to tell TW that he saved her daughter, but she cut him, like she didn't care at all. "Don't you understand?! I found the answer to everything! Years of work, and now I finally did it! you and I will have super powers of gods!". She talked like she had a demon instead of a soul. But he wasted too much time on listening to her, and the mine was still collapsing, until he couldn't see her anymore. Then, out of nowhere, a band of bats came, and they started to bite Mortis and drink his blood. The smell of blood (when the bat in the cage bited Mortis) attracted them. Then the mine was collapsing more, until PM couldn't see anything anymore. The bats somehow passed through the rocks and approached to PM. But then, everything's gone. He was at the forest, with Tara (that now he understood that she's TW's daughter, and his dream to marry with her was crushed) He wrinkled the card that Tara gave to him and smiled to her. "Thank you" he said. Tara just giggled. And when he thought about it, he realized that they're immortal (he wasn't sure about Tara, but no one can see her face, so no age!) so he still can marry her, if he'll be brave enough to ask her Plz like I worked on it for a looooong time ): Edit: Thank you so much for the likes :D
