We treated each other with far more respect and manners in high school, and this was considered, at the time, a somewhat "rough" school, had a Sherrif's substation on campus (back then, that was very unusual). If there was gonna be a fight, it was agreed on and when the loser said "okay I give", the other guy stopped. Today, cowardly attacks, groups of guys gang kicking a girl, no honor, back-biting and thuggery are admired.

Astounding how the relatives of the 2 criminals are void of feelings for the victim. Society today demands that criminals are perceived as the real victims and that is one of the reasons the world is going to ruin. Everyone wants to be a victim or feels offended. The sooner this planet is hit by an asteroid that wipes out humanity, the better.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree. The young offender's father apparently showed him how to behave before this incident. So what happens in court? The father exhibited the same poor judgment and behavior that got his kid locked up. He should be blaming one person...himself!

Not everyone who is thrown in jail is a monster. Some are caught up in the wrong things, lots are drug addicts, lots really need metal health care. Just because they broke a law (we don't know which one) doesn't mean they should be treated like trash.

I remember being in court, and I had to testify against a cab driver. I wasn't doing too good with the questions from the attorney, because I really didn't want to be a part of what was happening to this Taxi dude, and the judge, who looked and sounded like James Earl Jones, let me have it. This was in Boston. Taxi dude got 6 months for holding onto my sleeve, not even in a violent way, while the person I was with, was fighting with him over a freaking dime. That's 10 cents for those who don't know. Legal system is like this huge set of gears, and it has slow, crushing force. Even if it snares your sleeve, your foreseeable future is not your own. This death should not have happened. And a fight in a court room is just really disrespectful.
