Bravo GE BP 1 12/24v electric car iSUP pump / SUPboarder review

We have reviewed many Bravo / Scoprega products in the past, from their winning SUPer iSUP hand pumps to countless electric pumps. But this is the first 12/24v electric pump we've tested. With no batteries to keep in tip top condition, the new Bravo GE BP-1 is a handy electric pump to keep in the back of your car, ready to pump up any board to a max pressure of 18psi.

Nice review. I used to be a manual pump guy but this year my gf pick up the itiwit car adapter electric pump. Similar function to this one, less details, simple carry bag and only get 15PSI but it's a budget winner at 49'99€. Althought it has a screen that shows you the pressure every moment instead this one. Keep rowing!!

I got the electric pump offered by sandbanksstyle when I brought my cruiser. Life saver for pumping a 340 litre board up to 20psi. Also with automatic cut off it’s set and forget whilst you’re getting yourself ready

I bought my iSUP more than 5 years ago and at this point have a small collection of electric pumps that have failed in some way. It seems the need for a quality pump is still be filled. This Bravo seems like it may be one of the better offerings, but think the Outdoormaster Shark II could be a good option. Really for most folks can get by with cheaper options, if the need to inflate often to higher PSI the durability becomes more important. Its a shame to have to though failed pumps away. With higher PSI the pump gets hotter and the seals can degrade. Or the other solution is buy a newer iSUP with lower PSI recommended pressure, or just manual pump. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for your comment Matthew. Yeah we have had pumps fail in the passed. That is why we took a long time using this pump before putting it in a video. But like you said there is a lot of things going on in a pump and parts can break. I have heard that bravo are trying to get spares parts out to fix broken pumps if they fall now. Thanks Reuben

Im looking for a solution without sucking the car battery/ 12v connector... Firing up the engine isn't good for the wallet/ fuel consumption and even worst for the environment Wonder how long would a fully charged 12v standalone battery last using a pump like this... Does anyone have the mathematical solution? Please come up with a pump solutions comparison video if possible 🤙 Going for long paddles we really need the muscle energy saving as a protein bar/ banana simply doesn't do the trick 😁

Good thinking. I have also been reviewing at the same time the new Bravo GE 21-2 with has a built in battery (video out soon) . This can do 3 &1/2 boards, 10'6 x6"thick on one charge. So look out for that one. Just had a look on the pump and they haven't got the power consumption written on there anywhere, so I cant do a proper calculation. But to answer you question if you had a 100amph 12v battery Im sure you will get a board out of it maybe more... Thanks Reuben

Is this brand related to the ION E-Pump 2.0 (which says on the back made in Italy)? I am wondering if there is any way to get a replacement or discount when shipping back that broken E-Pump that - for nobody - seemed to work with reliability ..??

Hi Michael. I have had a look and it could be yes. Do you know what part has broken? I don't know about replacement if its out of warranty but you could contact bravo it see if they can fix or send you spare parts to get the pump going again? Thanks Reuben

@@SUPboardermag It's the membrane that acts like the piston pushing the air back and forth that broke. Which seems impossible to replace separately from the center piece of plastic with the pistons on top and the two white gear wheels below that maintain the two pistons synchronized .. engine, battery, housing, hose etc. all in perfect condition .. only where things "MOVE" it broke .. 🙋‍♂️

This is not ideal. Also trying to get in contact with them through their social media channels might be a good option too. I really like to hope you can get things fixed and get it working again.
