    @@AnthonyRivera-zr5sc phillies have to first make the playoffs. it's no guarantee that they will with how slowly they start. people forget how close they were to not even making it last year. lots of conspiracy theories that they try to get the wildcard spot to gain the advantage that entails but if that's true that's a dangerous game. for example the pirates and brewers are both already undefeated. could be that there's just not a spot for the phillies at all. but it's a long season and it's only just begun so we will see what happens. i think the braves are objectively the better team and should be able to beat them eventually in the playoffs anyway

    @@DustinBowen1 Jimenez got pulled because he brought in Bummer to face Brandon Marsh who's left handed, and has massively poor splits against left handers, as he's twice as productive against right handers as he is against left handers, then he also had Schwarber 2 batters later. He very much pulled Jimenez at the right time knowing that Marsh struggles really bad with left handers.

    @MassBoost not good enough to win the playoffs. You remember how long it took us to finally beat the dodgers all those years? Were close but we have to take our opportunities when we see them. The phillys beat us in the playoffs off of heart. Got to cut it out. Don't need another dodgergate.

    @@DonVaun12 What? lol, The Dodgers were a better team for several of those years. The Braves came off a rebuild where many said they were a year ahead, as no one expected them to be a play-off team in 2018. It only took them twice facing the Dodgers, almost beating them in 2020 after being up 3 games to 2 in the NLCS, and only having 2 dependable starters the whole postseason in Fried and Anderson, while giving guys from the bullpen and Bryce Wilson starts of all people, due to Michael Soroka getting hurt, along with Cole Hamels who lasted a whole 3 innings before being done for the year. Now they're the odds on favorite to win the World Series right now at 25.8% according to Fangraphs.

    @MassBoost you're missing the point. See the forest beyond the trees. No matter the circumstances or issues, they dominated us for years. When we overcame our flaws, the best they could do is take our first baseman (what's his face).. Phillys could potentially be our new dodgers. Can't make it a trend.

  • @MassBoost

    @MassBoost

    @@DonVaun12 Dominated the Braves for years? Since 1991 the Braves have only lost to the Dodgers in the play-offs just 3 times, and the Braves have a winning record against them in the regular season during that time as well at 134 to 124. So no they haven't dominated the Braves for years, only more recent once they got bought out 10 years ago, and have spent more money on team salary on average than anyone since that time. But considering that the Braves spent a few year of a rebuild during that time, you have that. Heck, the Dodgers TV revenue from Fox/Bally exceeded the Braves total payroll in 2018/2019/2020, and the Braves never even made it out of the bottom 20 in payroll till 2020. No, the Phillies aren't the new Dodgers with only a 2.7% favorite to win the World Series, with the Dodgers still above them, and the only team beside the Braves in double digits at 16.1%.
