I was up watching HBO late one night when I was like 15/16 and I saw this episode and out of all the poems from Brave New Voices that night, this is the one I’ve been attached to since. And TO THIS DAY it’s still one of my favorite poems 🔥 Every time I find it again I watch it 🤧

I was born in 1997, and I can remember ALL of it. By the way I couldn't stop smiling after I heard this poem. :)

Not even lying, I cried so hard the first time I heard this. I have no idea why.

Omg can't stop listening to this. I was having the worst possible day. I listened to this and I'm just smiling hard and verge of tears from laughter. Completely and 100% my childhood.

i was born in 1996...and i may not be able to relate to some of it...but i will say the 4 years that i can barely remeber are better than the last 5 i've had.........

ahhh, saw this in person. The excitement in that theatre was incredible

Im only 11, but i love Pokemon and Yugioh, i love Mario. Mystery meat creeps me out and that last line gave me chills. I wanna go curl up on a couch and watch DBZ right now

Zion Cosby Yeah, we caught the very end of the Toonami days. My Saturday morning shows were Naruto and Code Lyoko, Billy & Mandy, Fosters’ Home, etc. Pokémon was still airing, yet Digimon and Bakugan characters were all the rage

I've been looking for this for 2 years. So glad I found it

We watched this in my language arts class today to start off the semester with a bang. I swear I caught em' all once again with a huge Kamehameha from my Bowser with my Genesis plugged into the TV screen running around beating levels in under ten minutes while the fate of the world was in my hands until bedtime. Ah, the nostalgia.

Their deliverance is just amazing! I've never seen someone have so much fun on stage before. This is AWESOME!

'95 You Already Know!!! I remember all of those shows and games. Poem's real deep.

I'm a 95 kid and I' still in love with everything these guys said in the poem. 95 for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now that its 2011 i'm pissed that these cartoons and old child ways aren't the same.

I hear this poem everyday and it reminds me when I still had my brother and mother and now I'm on my own. It brings back the best memories in my life

Ah, I miss being a kid in the 90's... Now I'm stuck slaving between working a convenience store and college. I could totally relive those days playing sonic the hedgehog and watching cartoons on saturday mornings...
