This shaver has been going great since day 1, but the cleaning station stopped pumping the liquid, so Braun replaced it for free.

My cleaning station stop working ...charger working but just White led flashing and nothing else....im use 3 times maybe..any idea?

Hi, Yes, I keep mine docked in the cleaning station 24/7. This video is pretty old now but the battery is still perfect and even lasted a whole 2 week holiday without a charge. Cleaning station still works fine as does the razor

A cartridge will last 2 months as long the person uses it once a week and puts the gap back on the cartridge after using it so it don’t evaporate .how ever a person can buy 5 liters of isopropyl or ethanol and re fill a bruans cartridge up once the Bruans cartridge as fully gone and get up to 3 fills up off a cartridge but they will have to add oils with ethanol or isopropyl to keep it lubed and whals oil is a bad idea Cos whals oil is a bit thick for shavers and can clog them or make them cut crappy but Bruan no longer does bruan oils

H E L P!! Why my Cleaning Station does not show those three water drops cycles? I bought the same Shaver but mine is black (Sport Edition) whenever I perform a cleaning I only see one light (Power Light) it does the cycle but only that light lights up..

I know this is old video however I hope you can reply. I just got the series 9 razor last week and it's awesome. The cleaning station will only charge when I put it inside. Does the razor need to show the droplet icon to show you need to clean ? Mine seems like I mentioned to only charge it.

If you have it in the station even if the droplet doesn’t show you just press the power button again and it will clean it. So you can manually trigger a clean that way.

@@RM-tj7lv there are two types of cleaner charger bases for the series 9... The one that comes with most series 9 is a one cycle, (medium?) one. If you buy the pro series, or maybe one of the upper end Series 9, you get a 3 cycle cleaner/charger base and a leather travel case instead of the standard travel case... I just bought my first Braun razor on Amazon and I am waiting till it arrives. It comes with the standard cleaning/charging base and the standard travel case. I think the one cycle base will be fine for most people's use. I did splurge and go on a Braun factory outlet store and sprang for the leather case, just so I'd have a nice case for travel. This is my first electric razor in years! I've been a blade guy all my life, but last time I used an electric was a very old Norelco rotary razor that left me with razor rash! So hoping for a much better experience with the new Braun! If it's as good as I hear it is, I will get one of the pro 9's and base for home use and take the one I just bought for travel trips!

@@RM-tj7lv ok, so I don't own the 3 cycle one, but from my understanding, when you insert the razor, it automatically sets it to a certain clean cycle depending on how dirty the razor is... there may be a way to manually change that, but I think it is auto detect...

Thanks for the video. I've just bought one of these but the shaver is still soaking wet after the wash cycle, even though the fan runs. Any ideas?

​@stonkeng It's wet and dry shaver, so it doesn't matter if stays wet.

Your cleaner shows 2 drops, meaning medium cleaning program. Mine always shows 3 drops, so maximum cleaning even though I clean it out first with the brush and it's not dirty at all. The cartridge lasted a month and a half. It should be showing 1 drop because all I need is a light cleaning. Did I get a bad one?

Madd Maxx yes. Because mine is usually only 1 drop if I shave every day. If I wait 3 days to have a shave it'll be a 2 or 3 drop symbol.

DO you have to empty the cleaning liquid or water in the bottom every week or so? Is it a special liquid or is it just water?

Hi. The canisters contain ISO alcohol with a lemon scent. I tried refilling myself but didn’t work well because they have a sensor to realise when you fill it up yourself so what I do is just add more 100% IPA and I can do this 3 times then I get a new one. It runs out about every month

DummyBear I don't think it's worth getting the cleaning station. The cartridges only last 3-4 weeks regardless of how much you use it because it's alcohol it evaporates. I've tried making my own solution but it's jammed the heads up. You can't just use alcohol because the sensor needs to detect acid which is from the lemon they use. I used lemon juice which is what made the sensor happy but it ultimately stuffed up the heads. I say just stick with your series 5 and just wash it under hot water

I just shave, then throw it in the base and hit clean.

The base will clean it and removes all the hairs into the container then it’ll run a cooling fan for about 45 minutes to dry it

Can I just rinse out the hair with water rather than use that cleaning machine? Or does it damage the shaver if I try to rinse the hair out.

@NHV303 I have the 9376cc, and also the 3040s. I always take only the 3040s when I go away for a weekend, or on any long trip, as well. I use just some shampoo in the hotel sink and run the shaver in that solution for 1 or 2 minutes, then take off the cap, rinse everything well, and it cleans the shaving cartridge superbly. 🙂

just curious where did the hair go? does it circulate back to the cartridge solution? will that cause cross contamination?

Going back into the alcohol container but is then pumped back up. But the pump has a filter so the beard hairs get caught in the hexagon pattern on the bottom of the alcohol container

It goes into the liquid container. It has a filter and when there’s no more liquid all the hairs are locked in the container. Then you throw it out and put in a new one

Mine gets very hot. Is it normal? Maybe a fault in the head blades. I also have the series 7 and doesnt get so hot and cut much better

You should actually rinse off before using the cleaner. Also keep the cap and cover the cleaning solution when not using, or it will evaporate away.

Yeah I agree and I always done that with mine rinse off before cleaning in the cleaner stops the liquid in the cleaning Station from clogging up in hairs

@@residentzero yeah before I use cleaning station cassette off wash it under the tap with a bit of washing liquid soap I leave it to dry for few hours and then stick it in cleaning station to clean .people may say that’s pointless but it stops the cleaning solution from turning filthy plus the cleaning solution lubes it anyway plus the cleaning solution stops the blade from smelling I ran out of solution I was using tap only for a few weeks I found that the blade stunk

Each how must time should you do this cycle ??? After each shave ?

Is this supposed to clean every time you use the razor? I just got mine the other day and have had 2 shaves and still won't go into cleaning cycle but charges just fine. Faulty base?

My first base went faulty like that. Take it back. Even if you have a 10 second shave it'll display a 1 drop and wants to be washed

Oh it does the drying does it as they removed the drying function from the series 5 and it's very annoying to have a wet head which takes a long time to dry......the Braun range is all over the place as the newest versions are not as good as this range ...I'm getting this 9 then

Yeah, I’ve had no issues really. The drying is really just a fan that blows air over the head after the wash cycle. The fan turned off about an hour later. I’ve never had a wet blade next morning

MartinJ they fall into the cleaning cartridge. The bottom of the cartridge has a honeycomb pattern to keep the hairs away from the filter. That was there is always clean liquid going into the shaver.

MartinJ basically is sucks the liquid into the machine from the large hole through the filter. Then it drains back into the cartridge via the little hole. Once it’s empty you can just fill the cartridge with 100% isopropyl alcohol and add a little squirt of lemon juice but make sure you put the lemon juice in the small hole

Pacman 83 agreed. I've found when the container won't work anymore I wash it out and put in 99% isopropyl alcohol and then a squirt of lemon juice. Without the lemon juice the cleaner won't recognise the full container

I dont use my cleaning station i take the brush clean blade and the other part off and rinse the blade under hot water..i try shave..

How many times can you use the solution

It won’t work. Even if you put 100% alcohol it won’t work they have installed sensors to only work with their liquid. But I have found if you fill it up with 100% ISO alcohol you can refill it about 3 times. But from empty fill it with 100% alcohol then as a few drops of lemon concentrate and this is enough to trick the sensor

I didn’t hear a drying thing!!! I pulled it out and it was wet! Bunch bs! Wasn’t even dirty it’s still showing it’s dirty haven’t even fucking used it. It’s got issues

The water drops ( time to clean), appears on the shaver even if you just make contact with the shaver on your skin for half a second without shaving at all. The solution last a couple of weeks and cost $25 approx, a nice way of making constant money from us mugs. It's a bloody gimmick.

True. But the drops vary from 1,2 or 3 drops. The longer I go without shaving (maybe 3 or 4 days sometimes) it knows that it’s going to be bad so it’ll guess maybe 2 or 3 drops. But of u shave everyday then it’s only 1 drop. As for the fluid I find when it’s low, I refill with 99% iso alcohol and it’s good for another month or 2. But the lemon scent MUST stay in the fluid because it creates a small conductiveness and without this the machine won’t recognise any liquid. I tried washing out the container and filled with 99% iso and it won’t recognise it until there’s something acidic in the solution. I found a few drops of lemon juice will trick it into working

@@pcarlson1979 lol as I was reading your comment I thought, just and few drops of lemon juice and then I see your next sentence. I just got the kit and best bald shave and time compared to using my clippers and edger. Also, I only use it as a dry head shaver and shave 2-3 times per week. The instructions says to change out solution ever 6 weeks. I’m assuming that’s the avg. longevity before evaporation or before solution becomes too dirty with daily use. With that being said, we’re looking at 8 cartridges for 52 weeks for $200 which is steep. I see two types of ppl, the in for a penny in for a pound crowd and the make your own solution crowd. I think I’m going to fall into the later. I used to clean repair type writer parts in the Navy and we only used isopropyl alcohol in the cleaning bath. That and the agitator of the bath alone (no heat), made these greasy parts, watches and jewelry look brand new. That’s good enough for me. Thanks for the lemon tip.

The series 9 does not have the cleaning unit , it only comes with the series 7

Really? It makes a buzz while you shave then a few buzzes while it washes, then a quiet fan for half an hour while it dries. So no, the noise isn’t absolutely absurd.

wrong demo, you should do a basic water clean first before you put shaver into station in order to save the usage of CCR

What an absurdly overdesigned and impractical piece of gadgetry! The shaver is great, but just run it under that tap to clean it. $25 every few weeks for a new cleaning cartridge?! Preposterous.

Totally agree. Basically it’s just IPA alcohol with a lemon smell. I refill the container with IPA alcohol with a few drops of lemon scent

@@samfkt hi. It’s certainly not water proof. I tried to rinse the base whilst in warranty and it stopped working. Luckily they replaced it. Also, Braun are being assholes because they have a sensor inside to stop you using pure alcohol, which is why I have to add a few drops of lemon juice after a few times of refilling. The lemon juice makes the liquid a little conducive to activate the sensor. But over all, I’m getting about a year or so out of one cartridge simply by refilling it with alcohol.

After a wet shave I just rinse it under hot water. I’d say the wash station is only needed after a dry shave
