Yeah, we should listen to our parents if they are right. We should listen to our parents if what they are doing for us is good. But that is not always the case. What if what your parents tell you to do or what if your parent's rule is not for your good? Like what if it doesn't make sense, is not for someone's good, discrimination, not to keep someone safe? What if you don't agree? Parents can be strict, controlling or invade their child's privacy.

I tried running away twice. Once at 18 years old and then again at 20 years old. I had a good reason behind it though. Also, it’s not considered running away since I am legally an adult now. But, the reason why I chose to do it is because I wanted to get away from all of the abuse I was being put through. But, I got caught and now I’m right back where I don’t want to be. But, the abuse isn’t too bad. Like, I’m not being beaten or molested everyday. But, the emotional abuse is what I couldn’t take anymore so I understand why these kids want to run away because they don’t like the feeling of being controlled and told what to do. I understand that completely but there are some things you need to listen to your parents about. Just not when they have ill intentions for you.

I’ll probably never get an apology from the people who have hurt me but I’ll accept that because that only means I’m being redirected to another purpose and I didn’t do anything to deserve that type of treatment so that’s a good thing. It is painful but I’m also thankful at the same time because that means I’m a good person. I choose to love even though I’ve been wronged. I choose kindness towards them by praying for their their souls to be saved because they probably never got to experience what real love feels like but I have. I see myself as a survivor. I'm Mexican. My parents aren't that strict but they do want me to be better and are always looking out for me. I'm a good person as I never do anything bad.
