I live just south of Bratt, in Guilford, and grew up in town. A couple fun facts for you: the cute little stream flowing under the covered bridge is the very same water you later filmed downtown on Main St. It’s the Whetstone Brook! It’s also a major flooding source for town when we get big storms like Irene, which put 3ft of water in the middle of town. Also, those aren’t the Whetstone Falls over those rocks, if you had crossed the street to your left & looked over the other side of the bridge you’d see a drop of about 6ft or so as it flows down past the Whetstone Station to the Connecticut River. So you’ve come full circle!

Thanks Daemon. Always good to get the local perspective, because there is so much one can't know just visiting and with a tight schedule. Paul

It's an adorable town. It was something of a bucket list item for my wife as well due to the fact that the national Holstein association is located there. We really enjoyed the time we spent there. I hope you get there. Thanks!

Looks like a really nice place. certainly the area by the creamery seemed nice and traquil. I was interested to here you talk about Bev's experiences with her prize cows and dairy farm. My grandfather was a dairy farmer just over the other side of the bridge down in SW Ontario for many years and all his brothers had farms and my grandmothers family as well. They also had a feed business and I remember hearing some of the discussions when I was little about that contamination (and other problems) when they would all get together. It must have been a very hard thing for her family to go through and for her personally. I'm glad she's getting bit of her history back by way of the documentation, it must be a tough time to think about for her though. I never would have thought about them having a building for the association which is silly as I know they do for the horses! So don't know why it seemed surprising at first! I hope you are both having a great day! I have really been enjoying these videos from your trip to the northeast! 😊

Thank you Annie. You are a kind and sensitive soul. It was an intensely emotional day actually. While I'm sure everyone would have been touched by Bev crying, and the lady at the Holstein Association crying, I didn't film it because it was just too personal. But the day turned out to be wonderful, and the town was beautiful. We tried to show as much of the town as was practical, but sadly it was too windy that day to put the drone in the air. Thanks again so much. Paul

Thanks for your video on Brattleboro. I’m thinking of leaving the rat race in L.A. and relocating to New England. Brattleboro is on my list.

It's a beautiful town, and very pleasant. Having once lived in Santa Monica, I think you're in for a period of time with culture shock. LA and Brattleboro are very different places indeed.
