I really enjoy how your videos go beyond the nuts and bolts of mechanisms to describe how it feels to play the game.

That is what I have grown to dislike about previews. They just describe the game mechanics. Okay. How does the game actually play though?

This is exactly why I get so frustrated with people thinking that reviews of games (or any other cultural media, but it seems especially pronounced for games) should be 'objective'. An objective review is little more than a product description.
Love your reviews and insights on the board games :3 you and shut up and sit down really what gives me the most insights on a game , thank you for your very hard work
I hope the Birmingham review comes soon. Excited to hear your thoughts comparing the two.

Birmingham is awesome; include little Beer kegs, streamlines a few things.

Birmingham feels like a thoroughly evolved modern design. It removes complexity here and adds complexity there and feels like a game designed in the last year rather than many years ago.

I hope they include a way to remember which is which. I know I don't want this one, but I'm very interested in the new one. But then what if I forget and buy this one by mistake? :O

Just remember this: white is the new black.
Wow! Hats off to you both --- excellent depth of review with clear points! Looking forward to playing this beautiful edition!
You guys are the best! Thanks for all the great reviews so far. I'm eagerly awaiting Birmingham to arrive at my FLGS...
This was an amazing review. While I would never be able to endure a game like this, your explanation of it brought me close to almost looking into it.
Brilliant review, hit the nail on the head, made me laugh and made me write a comment! Played this for the first time a couple of weeks ago and really liked it because there are some really clever mechanisms. Thank you NPI AND keep up the great work!
I love your game reviews guys. I like the way how you explain the game rules and game mechanics, it is really entertaining + the British humor on the top is like icing on a cake :D the best combination ever. Love it ... greetings from Slovakia :)
Another really cool review ;) Thanks, Elaine and Efka!
Great video! Really enjoying the moving shots!
Enjoyed yr review so much. Can’t wait for more review from u guys later.
Your best review yet. Keep up the great work.
Great production work on this one! Improvement is quite noticeable this year.
Can't stop watching your guys' videos, you never disappoint!
Great review! I played both Lancanshire and Birmingham and love them. Can't wait to play them again this weekend.
What a great review. We just played Brass Lancashire for the first time tonight in our game group and I think you nailed every thought and emotion we had. Definitely not for everyone but we loved it.
I admire all the work you do. The love and passion that you put on every video is amazing. I envy you for having the time, patience and energy to do all you do. Both of you are an example of lots of good stuff. Keep the good work! BTW I even click my PC screen and smiled to the camera and spend 10 minutes talking about NPI with a friend, just because. Have a great day!
Played Brass for the first time the other day. A masterful game. Thanks for the review!
Loved the 'like and subscribe' tutorial at the end Efka.... I liked and subscribed.... and kick-started!
Great video! I have both editions of this game and am looking forward to digging into them.
Great video! Looking forward to your next one.
Thanks again for another great video guys!
You guys are just AMAZING!!!
Appreciate the explanation at the end! I only vaguely understand KZread, and it helped.
Thank you for another great video. Love you guys.
Love the reviews keep them coming..
Love you guys! Keep the good work going
Great channel, great video
I have to say, this is probably your best review to date!
Love your reviews
Your best review to date (but also bring back the handsome man from the end of the kitchen rush review)
I played Brass Birmingham the other day and I thought it was absolutely fantastic
Great content, once again! Doing my part to help the algorithm out!
I love the Twilight Zone fortune machine guy behind you.

Loved this review!
Thanks for the great review! Hoping to play this game one day.
Thanks for the great review.
Awesome! Fair review! I dig it. I may need a personal 'Rules Correction' system installed.
Another great video :D Thank you! Great review, and great game! Can't wait to play it more!
A very well written and entertaining video! I can't wait to hear what you have to say about the beer brewing in Brass Birmingham!
Keep up the good work!
amazing video!
You convinced me to like and comment on a KZread video for the first time. Congratulations, you were successful. :)
Still waiting for that Birmingham review.
Highly enjoyable as always :)
Brass Birmingham was the first game ever my wife and I pledged and after playing just the Canal Era twice we can say we love it and everything you said about Brass Lancashire fits to Brass Birmingham too. The concept is the same. In Brass Birmingham therer are no ports and there is pottery and ... Just two really excellent games. Thanks for a great review.
This video summed up my emotional rollercoaster while playing the first time
Great outtro! Consider this a comment! An engagement with your content even!? Yes! I hope I’ll meet you guys again at Essen this year (and maybe even play a game with you again. We played London Dread two years ago and you were fun to play with! 10/10 would play again!)
You guys make me laugh with these videos, great work guys. See you at Essen?
Beautiful game, a piece of art. And great review!
Nice video guys! As usual :-)
Looking forward to get to play my copy :)
This is my favorite game. One of the few reprints of a game I own, I will likely buy again. Each game feels fresh. The only action that typically gets done in high frequency is loans before the Rail Phase. I love how loans are stopped after cards are removed from board in the Rail Phase. We have had players forget and then could not do the move due to lack of money.
What i really like is the Pixies vinyl in the background...that's one of my favorite albums.

So very subliminally sublime.
Enjoyed the vid thanks!
A friend owns the original version and Lancashire and Birmingham. We just played Birmingham last night. I like it. Money seems tighter. Extra decision making on tiles with more straight points vs more rail link value vs income on the same good track. So developing away everything may not always be best. Helped that we played the original again last month to get the rules fresh
Great review, though definitely looking forward to Brass Birmingham reviews for the comparison - there seems to be a slight lean in preference that way...
Never liked or subscribed before. Efka explaining why convinced me to. Thanks for the great content you always make. Elaine's board game songs were the best.

Witness the power of sincerity!
Love you guys! So intelligent!!!
I was really enjoyed and I pressed everything! :)
Very good video, now I want brass.
I dont often comment on videos, but I liked how the description of the virtuous cycle of engaging videos tied into the actual content of the Brass review. I see what you did there and it was very clever.
Thank You!
Great writing on this review! I loved "...an ouroboros of resource exploitation, " and will find a way to steal that line from you in the future. :)
This was my first NPI video. Definitely won't be my last. Liked and subscribed :-)

Welcome! Glad to have you on board.
Interaction engaged!
Just got Brass. Such an interesting game. Really enjoyed playing it.
Would love to give this one a try. And keep up the great work Elaine and Efka!
Loving your reviews and enjoyed your explanation of ‘like and subscribe’. It does make me want to help 😊
I’ve played Brass a lot only in app form until my Kickstarter copies turned up. Thought two novices tonight. During no other game have I ever heard my fellow players repeatedly say: what a ****ed up game, what a great game. It punishes you and rewards you in equal measure and you keep coming back for more. Great game, great review. Looking forward to the review of Birmingham.
Nice video!! Really not sure what to think of the game still, , but i liked the watermelon balloon!
Nice outro!
The nutshell man... comedy gold :D
Thanks for another totes amazeballs video !!
Dude awesome weight loss, congrats man

Was thinking exactly the same thing! Good going Efka. It helps when you realize board games are not food.
Always enjoy.
Played Brass Lancashire for the first time recently - was superb. Only a two player game, I can imagine the claustrophobic exploitation of more players would be brutal.
Wow i discovered you, nice people make nice review.
Oh yeah, the game looks awesome too, but I already knew that, I only came to watch your review because it's a certified 17'34" of my life well spent.
Hell Yeah! Interaction!
Nice video!
Just commenting....and by the way... I love yours reviews!
Pressing the thing!
Great review! I think though the „new“ Birmingham is a tick better. But the initial level of action-madness has to be overcome anyway.
ah, thank god a reviewer that tells you what you might NOT like! so rare in all types of reviews

You'll love Tom Vassel's Brass: Birmingham review then.
Pixies Doolittle on the shelf!!! Love it :)
I really enjoyed this video. I've been a fan of Age of Industry for years and finally played Brass (Birmingham and Lancashire) a few times recently. I'm kind of torn now between Age of Industry and Brass Lancashire (Birmingham is 100% a keeper). Is anyone else in the same boat as I am?
Great to see Doolittle in the back.
awesome
Martin Wallace warning people to get their head around something sounds like a reason to go and hide like one is about to face a Kaiju attack.
This video might be a little quiet? Other than that excellent work as usual guys, keep it up!
Guys I love what you do and I have little experience in making videos, so this is just a feedback from my hard-hearing self. When you change camera setup try to adjust the audio slightly more: some shots are harder to hear than others, at least for me. Or maybe my hearing might be getting worse by the minute.

This is a very good thing to point out. We will try and work on it. Thank you
Hey, nice video
I likeyour channel
I kickstarted these games, and also bought 5 boxes of iron clays extra. I still haven't brought these games to the table, it has just been to intimidating to teach others a game that I myself don't fully feel confident about. The boxes looks amazing on the shelf though so I guess that's a plus... I need to get around to trying these games, look like something I would enjoy if I play with the right people...
Well, I ordered Brass, are you happy now? I also liked and commented. Great ending to the video sir.

Birmingham.
Great video, as always. I have been on pins and needles waiting for this to come out. I saw Brass Birmingham in person last week and it was beautiful, it didn't get played though as there weren't enough people who knew the base game and the rules are only in English. Have you seen the satirical comedy Brass from the early 80s? I think you might enjoy it although my memory of it is from watching it in the early 80s as a 13 year old.

I have not seen the early 80s satirical comedy Brass but I'll definitely look into it!
This is nice
Hi Efka, could you make the promised follow-up review of Brass: Birmingham? I'm on the fence between Lancashire and Birmingham and would certainly love to hear your opinion (although I'm almost set onto Birmingham already, since I mostly play 2p games). Thanks!
