Yeah everything was destroyed and replaced with glass buildings, to make sure that all old buildings and big factories that were, will never be remembered by anyone. Very sad.

A lot of those old buildings were communist of origin and held no value. I'm not a fan of glass myself, but it's definitely an improvement and not too horribly modern

I'd like to see you try to find a cheap house to buy or rent in the other western countries, as cheap as in Romania. The minimum wage in Romania is 3,000 lei (€607.35) per month. Only 2 million Romanians earn the minimum wage, out of the population of 19.12 million citizens, the other people earn significantly more. The average wage per country is 6,650 lei (€1,345.80) a month, meaning that after taxes the Romanians end up with roughly €811 in their pockets. The salary depends a lot on the level of education and qualifications that you have. A person working in the IT department can even earn up to 14,700 lei a month (€2,975.08), sometimes even higher if you are very good and have a lot of experience. You can rent a studio apartment in Bucharest with as little as €250 per month. Most people are renting very nice one or two bedroom apartaments costing €350 to €450 per month. Not that renting is a big issue in Romania, 96% of the citizens live in their personal properties. The point is: educate yourself! Go to school, graduate! You can have a decent life in Romania if you are an educated person. That's why most of those that are leaving the country are people without higher education, they are travelling to the other western countries to wash elderly a*ses, work on construction sites, farms, warehouses, delivery trucks and similar other places. Because these are their capabilities. You might earn more in the other western countries, but everything else is also extremely expensive, especially the rent! Example: Studio apartment in Bucharest, Romania: €250+ per month Studio apartment in London, the UK: £1200+ per month Studio apartment in Paris, France: €850+ per month

@@befreetv354 The minimum wage as of 1st of January 2023 is 3,000 lei, by law 🙄 Which equals roughly €609.62. Call yourself stupid, you are not up to date with the information. The minimum wage means that this is the least that you can earn, not that everybody earns that wage. Approximately just two million Romanians earn that amount. The average wage is the best to keep an eye on since most people earn significantly more!

This is simply not true: no qualified worker would work for 500 euros. They get at least 800 net salary. What is true is that many are officially employed at minimum wage level so that the employer pays less social insurance and taxes. But the employee takes 800 home. Grey zone.

3000 Euro net salary in the West means close to 6000 gross salary (unless you're in Switzerland). Now look up how many people get such a salary in say Germany - my guess is less that 15%. Then you pay 1500 rent and are left with 1500. In a country where the price level is 50% above Romanian prices. No big difference anymore.
