Great question. The docility of the animal is partly genetics and partly animal husbandry. Most of my calves heifers, bulls, and steers are docile. I always get one or two in a year that no matter what they are flighty and/or easily irritated.

The market likes those black baldy calves. So hereford cows should be bread to black angus bulls and vice versa black angus cows should be bread to hereford bulls. Those black baldy calves will fetch more at the sale barn. If you would like, you could supply a brands or Bradford bull should give you a leggy baldy calf.

We run black cows and AI to a simmental bull. Get blue calves that we were told wouldn't sell good. They have brought top dollar at the sale for thirty years now. Nice looking stock Sir.
