It's because Brandon was always battling it out with Ramy that his legs looked small in comparison. Compared to the rest of competitors his legs are actually decent. His upper body being so good also makes his legs look like a weakness in comparison

But at the point that you can really point the spot out where the muscle even stop looking the way it should, then it’s too much. I have the same critique about Hadis delts as well. But man don’t you worry about my opinion. I’m just some guy that loves the sport of bodybuilding

Brandon has style, Derek definitely doesn't. Brandon's legs could be a little bigger, but the balance is great. Every Olympian winner SHOULD have winner's arms, Derek doesn't.

Brandon, with his biggest legs, has classic division size legs.

Derek has a great silhouette in most poses but his actual muscle looks off! No striations whatsoever expect his glutes. It’s not a issue of bad lighting, Hadi looked super striated standing next to him.

You know who else didn't have striations maybe the greatest Mr Olympia ever Dorian Yates who completely dominated the toughest era of bodybuilding ever the 1990 dominated Ronnie Coleman and Kevin levrone Flex wheeler all of those guys couldn't touch Yates and he didn't have cross striations either in his chest and things like that so don't give me this crap people are just jealous of Derek because he's a clean-cut white guy and everybody likes to hate on the white guy let's be honest what this is all about he's the Clean Cut white guy who's a devout Christian and that's an enemy of the world right now if you're those things you're considered bad and that's why everybody's hating on him because he's a God-fearing Christian who happens to be the best built man in the world and everybody's hating on him I'm not as good a Christian as Derek I would tell all these people to go to hell people to go to hell because they're just jealous of him because he's the best bodybuilder in the world

I really only have Derek taking the Back poses and even then Brandon has a tremendous back, derek's is just one of the best of all time at this point. Brandon really has it all, completeness, he won more poses after all, roundness, and shape. Derek may have a slight edge in over all detail and does well in some of those categories, but i see brandon as the best of everything overall here.

More of the top guys these days have wide blocky mid-sections, short stubby legs, long abdomen/torso. Ripped to the bone yes, but zero aesthetics. Curry was the last time an aesthetic bb won the Mr. O.

Curry had great cuts and separation here. His symmetry midsection and v taper were probably at its best here

Competition on Olimpia is worse nowdays.... imagine guy like Derek win in 90s or 2000s no fcking chance

I’m convinced that Derek won because The Mr. Olympia Organization & heads needed a English Caucasian Speaking Champion to grow & promote the sport. Cause so many people kill him from the front & side shots. Derek literally only had his back shots.

Of course. They soft prepped us last year by giving him 2nd on his debut. They couldn't have him win first time (he didn't deserve 2nd) but they prepared us for his upcoming crowning.

Derek took the 2 back poses, and the side triceps is up for debate. Rest of the poses Curry wins I guess the abs thigh is debatable also, but regardless Brandon is a superior bodybuilder.The crazy part is many had Hadi beating this version of Curry...which suggests Hadi has been getting worse

Agreed. I don't think dereks structure is nearly as good as people are making it out to be especially from the front.

Despite his weakness from the legfs from the back, Brandon has the flow, fullness, this 3D effect similar to Phil Heath. He's massive with a great midsection and aesthetically pleasing. Highly underrated !

It's sad that Derek just won because of his back. He doesn't even have a bodybuilder shape. Look at his most muscular...come on...

In this microwave culture some guys definitely benefit and can genetically throw on a lot of size in short order. Derek has done that. But with a bunch of muscle maturity, Brandon shows the years of hard work. Ten years older and he's also been in the scene since the early 2000s. Plus he has a better shape. Physiquewise, I put Derek closer to a younger William Bonac.

Derek is overrated. I still think Hadi beat him.

With all due respect, Derek won only the 2 back poses. Back double and back lat spread. Brandon the clearly winner. Stop talking about only shredded glutes. There are more body parts

I remember watching the Phil Heath vs Brandon Curry comparison and Phil destroyed him. This was the opposite except for those back shots. Derrick was in better condition but nothing doing

Curry's issue was the way he never looked super conditioned (thick skin maybe? genetics? I don't know...) especially lower body. But the upper body is just wow... Aesthetic and full and nice muscle insertions. Derek much more peeled, but again, he looks smaller. Derek looks so peeled (inside and out 🥶). The 2019 Olympia lighting was criticised but ever since then it got even worse lol go figure...

I dont get why Brandon Curry is so underrated. Clearly better overall package than Hadi for example.

If Brandon could just bring his legs up to the e level of his upper body we could have had the “Brandon curry era”. However I think primarily due to his lacklustre lower body it just never happened

I don't like any of Derek's front poses. Front relaxed he holds his hands too high. Front double his legs look terrible and abs and thighs well, there's no abs or thighs

Looking at all these recent comparisons , I've no idea how a soft looking, weak legged,Derek won the recent olympia. Hadi was completely ripped off I'm afraid. All politics 🙄

It's kind of annoying how you compare two ways of posing and say that one is better because you prefer the way it shows the musculature. Open, relaxed side chest vs a closed squeezing version, but you like the closed version, so you say they're better. Two different poses.

Brandon wins. Front shots he takes it. Side shots are a tie. Derek wins BD and ties in BLS. I know people are talking about glutes but curry has glutes. The way you hit the pose helps. Remember you start with primary muscle group then look at secondary features. Derek's hams aren't any better. Calves are genetic so well pass on both cause there are better. Abs and thigh Brandon. Doesn't matter which variation he hits he wins. A vacuum helps but in this case it hurts Derek because he can only vacuum. MM goes to Brandon any variation. People are talking about Brandon's legs but they look fine. Could use a little detail on the side but he has better definition from the front. People saying Derek won cool. Not judging your opinion. But, Brandon has more superior shots and the shot Derek wins isn't a landslide. My opinion. I feel the back shots are important but Brandon isn't giving too much ground. Derek needs better front shots. 4 shots and Brandon 2 are a tie and Derek takes 1 for sure. Derek's weakness is not having striations on the front of his body. Brandon, better arms.
