So beautiful. She played this version at a concert I attended with my Dad and we were both in tears, he having lost his wife and I my mom recently. The concert was on her birthday. We have mourned through music a lot and so that was really special. I’m so glad this was released in studio quality!

I love that you and your dad got to share this moment. My dad was always my goto person to share music with and Brandi Carlile was one of them. Now that he’s gone, I share music I know he’d love with my mom so we can “mourn through music” together. I had not heard of this song before, but it came on a Spotify radio station and it reminded me so much of my dad. I love how music can heal.

I burst into tears on the last note... Thanks so much Brandi Carlile, you are a life saver for this gay old woman from a homophobic one horse town in western Colorado...

From an old gay guy that just learned about Brandi this year, I was lucky enough to see her just minutes from my home with great seats with my best gal friend since high school a few months ago. Now I listen to Brandi daily, and may I add that I only learned that she was gay during the concert here in Western Massachusetts. All the audience was so kind, sweet, and beautiful. The best to you, Bill.
