I love this so much because you can feel that she did this because she wanted to. This was her chance to play with people who inspired her and she didn't care what anyone thought. This was her moment to do what she wanted to do. I mean, she also NAILED IT but that wasn't even on her radar. That wasn't what it was about. I'm so glad she got to do this.

Such a tough act to follow. Chris was out of this world. Lady Gaga is probably the only female singer that could equal his vocal power -- would love to see her in a rock setting sometime (watch her destroy it on the Stone's Gimme Shelter). I wasn't there, but I was listening on the radio. I was so glad that people showed up for it. I remember distinctly that morning as I was getting ready for work turning on the radio. I thought, "wow, a bit early for John to be getting this rockin with Soundgarden." Then it was 2 Soundgarden songs in a row, and I thought "something is wrong." John came on air, and said the news for apparently the 2nd time. I actually dropped to my knees right there in my kitchen. I actually considered calling in to work, but what would I have done? Just moped around all day feeling sad. I had the radio on all day at work, and I'm still so thankful that KEXP takes the time for days like that.

Matt Cameron is topTen drummer I should explain: Matt Cameron is topTen drummer, on my personal list. IMHO Matt Cameron is #4. In between Bonzo and Ringo. Warning: my topTen list is personal and I just freewrite’… sorry for length. I made a list off hand. TopTen Drummes all time 1• J Bonham (zep) {no one will ever change my mind of Bonham. He was groovy and hardmetal. He was a flaming comet streaking across the sky, no one could look away. Intros, solos, endings, rhythms, beats the list goes on, he added EVERYTHING to the songs he played. People always talk about hard hitting drums, snares, rims, hats, etc…but I have YET to HEAR what Bonham did. The heaviest metal still just sounds lesser. Pearts complicated changes and additions, just don’t compare to John just laying a beat down for the entire song. Unforgettable. When I first hear Moby Dick, I couldn’t stop putting the needle back to the beginning (albums and record players)…I still have my scratched up worn out Zep2 & physical graffiti albums. Just looking at them, I hear Bonham and then everyone else…John Paul jones was the bomb, if could be JPJ from 69-73, that would be heaven, to play alongside and with the master of drums recorded…bliss. Sure, Plant stands out like flaming Phoenix flying over a beaches shore, but Bonham is the ocean. His sound was sooooo large. His best songs for listening to BONZO THE GREATEST: Good times bad times (what a great introduction…when I first put this album on and this song started - WOW. It was something so incredible that I had an out of body experience. This is debatable, the super-power-groups First Song), when the levee breaks (forever song…in the year 3400 musicians will still use this as an example of humans genius and talent), four sticks!!!! FOUR STICKS!!!! --dun dun dun daaaar, dun dun dun daaaar!!!!…, The Ocean, In My Time of Dying!! (I love PG…my favorite jam to drum to on my dashboard driving…yeah that’s me), fool in the rain (omg that KZread video, wow!), dyer makers Intro (Jesus, how is that not the most sampled drum section), Bonzos Montreux & Moby Dick!!!, Kashmir (another forever song), Immigrant Song (Thor!!!!), oooh How many more times and the lemon song,….omg I gotta stop!! The rover!! Oh Achilles last stand! Jesus sooooo many bonzo legendary treasures!} (Insert Great gap of space) 2• G Baker (cream) {the man with two feet’s (kicks). He was just the guy everyone’s big older, cooler brothers would rave about. In their Jean Jackets and smoking in front of adults…when talking about AC/DC, BlackSabbath, BOCult, JPriest, Cooper, Rush, Rainbow… everything was Ginger Baker and Judas Priest…too cool for me at 8yo. When I finally deep dived into cream and bakers songs - wow! It wasn’t as terrifying as I thought it would be, it was CRAZY! He ruled songs, drums and mixing beats were everywhere! Ginger taught me song structure} 3• M Mitchell (jimi - still can’t believe how amazing it is to listen to Hendrix+Headphones and just listen to Mitchell….wow - white boy) 4• Matt Cameron (soundgarden/pearljam) {I still, to this day, smash out his drum parts like I was listening to NPeart again when 10y.o. (Mostly Farewell to Kings (album I bought) and of course 2112 & PCriss - especially God of Thunder (kiss)} 5• N Peart (rush) {he will always be the wrench in the top-tenDrummer lists} 6• K Moon (The Who) {My fav drummer to watch, far above anyone else, Baker second…lol. God I miss him} 7• Ringo (Beatles) {His work mostly goes unappreciated…but idc! He was always the sidekick, from the audience pov, and I only observed this from a classic vantage point, because the Beatles were a generation before mine…but dad always played the Beatles, eagles, America, Bread, Jim Croce, BeeGees, Chicago, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, ToTo, etc…yeah he loved the easy listening - but ALWAYS played music! ALWAYS sang songs around the house (horrible voice, lol. rip dad)! ALWAYS had an expensive stereo and speakers…I was lucky. 8• S Copeland (police) {his high hat work is flat out crazy!!!} 9• C Watts (rolling stones) {I still can’t believe his intros and how he fits into that band…how the F did he continue touring with that circus??! rip love you Watts…your expressions in your music videos were priceless). 10• P Criss (kiss) {he sucks. But he has to be on MY top ten because of my first band} KISS COVER BAND (lip synch band): I was 9-10 yo, lived on a navy base…half the parents were gone for six months of the year, and the second parent would work all day…leaving every kid on the base to run free without supervision most of the days. We would steal my moms Mary Kay make up (back in the 70s, moms would sell Mary Kay products (beauty products). We would paint our faces as KiSS, erected a stage in the backyard, a drum set out of a wooden bench and buckets&real drum sticks stolen from a buddys older brother…tennis rackets as guitars/bass. We would Dress up and do covers of KISS two or three days a week. Would put my dads stereo speakers in the window screens, and GROUPS of people would come watch us perform, lawn chairs set up for audience…attendance from 10-30 peeps…Jumping off roofs into Aces split landing, ketchup blood spitting from Gene during god of thunder. I was Paul Stanley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar). -- Thank you mom, dad, mayport naval base, Nikki hazard❤️, Dennis Treague❤️, William Summers❤️, my brother Scott❤️…and of course ALL THE ROCK BANDS OF THE 70s especially KISS for KissAlive2, Destroyer, KISS debut, Hotter than Hell…

True. Her voice is interesting but is nowhere near the force of nature that Chris’ voice was. It’s like asking a sparrow to make an eagle’s call.

Its true and I agree no one can fill his shoes! Now the question is can some one deliver a performance of his music that is bearable and she did an amazing job here. Ive posted tihis alot but I think they trade marked Nudedraons a Soundgarden anagram and the name of the band they used when they came back for a show in seattle so I think she will be the front woman for that band.
