The RINSE aid is used as a drying aid, like Gary said. It only acts as a protective layer for a short period of time. The main protection is the cealent I put on after polishing, which can then last roughly 5 years. So I just use the rinse aid to help my get the majority of water off the vehicle as to not completely soak my drying towels with every dry. Hope this clears things up a bit 👍
