From my experience with Canadian banknotes, they look unsightly when crinkled up and like packing tape, once a cut is started, they come apart very easily. But generally, they look very good for a long time.

Very interesting! I love your videos about England. They are fun to watch and very informative. I have only seen one plastic note before and I don't remember what country it came from, but it felt really weird. We still have paper money here in the USA, so I guess that's why it seemed so strange. I do know one thing... It seemed almost indestructible. I wonder if the plastic notes cost more for the government to produce than the paper notes? Are the environmentalist going nuts about them being made of plastic rather than biodegradable material? Just a few thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

+Slacker Stacker thanks for the comment my friend! The plastic notes are pretty tough for sure. Almost impossible to tear with your hands! They probably cost more to make but they will last a lot longer so I would imagine that it is cheaper in the long run. There is still something so satisfying about a paper banknote though. I think there might be a revolution if the USA changed the $ notes to plastic!

I doubt that. If anyone in government sees a $ sigh larger than the original they cap their ears and yell really loud as to not hear the idea presented. Besides, plastic is already controversial here. across the country our stores still offer paper bags and encourage their customers to use their own cloth bags to protect the environment. I don't think plastic money, no matter how cool it looks or durable, would go over very well here.

We changed over to them a while back. Nice looking but DO NOT leave a black wallet on the dash of a vehicle or run them through the dryer. What you get back is apparently very unattractive, LOL. Some are so bad even the banks won't redeem them.I have yet to do it but have seen a couple that have been heated a tad too much. Thanks for this today these are really nice looking pieces.I do prefer the feel of the cotton/paper notes myself.I am hearing of a $5 coin here now ? ? ?

See the Uk is doing some modernization :) Sweden replaced all Kings on Banknotes, to artist, authors, diplomats of importens. Making the notes for the people and coins for royalty. A nice compromise i think. Mary Shelly would be nice, maybe with a frankenstein on the revers.

Not had one yet just got back from sicily and my bro's wedding. I do prefer the paper and i do wonder how long till coins are plastic as well.but as long as you can exchange it for goods or services all its really needed for. We come along way from the trading of gold to then just a note and us stackers understand its bascally not worth holding onto currency as thats what it is and all it is.
