Brand New - New Way Sidewinder XTR - Unique Hopper View!

Welcome back to my channel!
Well, it's been an interesting couple of weeks. Firstly, apologies for the delay in uploading new videos. We've recently acquired a bunch of brand new New Way Sidewinder XTR trucks in our yard, and I got lucky to drive one for a few week. This marks only my fourth or fifth day on this truck when I record this video, as you can see, I've already become quite accustomed to it. Of course, there's still a long way to go to master it. After all, the best driver is always learning driver. I must say, I'm really impressed with the New Way Sidewinder XTR compared to the Heil Pythons. It operates much smoother and with greater precision, without the constant worry of the cumbersome elbow of the Python arm knocking into objects or tipping over other cans. Let's delve into some pros and cons.
Pros: The arm reaches about two feet further than the Python, and the arm gripper is incredibly thin, effortlessly maneuvering between cans like a sharp knife through butter. Additionally, the arm doesn't extend all the way up over the body to dump the cans, eliminating the need to worry about overhead wires. Furthermore, it operates much quieter without the slamming blade and banging arm noises.
Cons: However, it's notably slower than the Python, with a dump cycle ranging from 10 to 20 seconds depending on the arm's reach, compared to the Python's 7 to 10 seconds per can. Also, the ride quality on these Autocar frames with the New Way setup is inferior; they ride quite harshly, even with the tag axle down, significantly affecting ride comfort.
Thank you for watching the Video.

Amazing Video! Feel free to use any of my pictures! I loved this POV! If I come to you with a GoPro, Can I put it up on the hopper or somewhere else? I really like these trucks so much more then the pythons. Yet it is a little slower. I am not a big fan of the pythons. I personally love the sidewinder. One of my favorite trucks that recology has. I get out of school early tomorrow, around 12: 30. Do you do a route anywhere by that time tomorrow? If so can you please tell me the area so I can film you again! It was very fun filming someone I knew. Was this recording from yesterday? I was looking for myself in the video but I realized I saw you at like 7:00 in the morning, it was still dark. Amazing video

That is very cool, do you end up finishing earlier or later cause the arm takes longer to cycle? It must be nice not having to hear the blade slams thousands of times of day, plus no more arm that knocks things over lol. Are you finding this truck can hold the same amount per load compared to Heil or less. We have ZRs here in Henderson NV, and the drivers say our Heils can hold a lot more. Will this be your new permanent truck? Also, so much stuff that can either be recycled or composted in the regular garbage!

I can answer one of your questions, This exact truck may not be his, but he will be driving a New Way.

I don't know about other people but my company used to be all Heils until we demoed one of these and now it's pretty much all we buy. I am on my second brand new one and I love it. They pack way more than any of our Heils ever could. I love how gentle the arm is compared to a Heil as well.
