My word, you managed to show an extremely impressive mod and gave credit for it instead of "redesigning" it as your own. Bravo!

I've known about Matt's work on GGs. You should partner with him and have these implemented in the prestige GGs (optionally). This is amazing work. Hopefully one day, laminated screens are also made for the GG. This will make me buy another Prestige off of you. All the best,

I'm always afraid of the flux being left over underneath the asic etc. Is there any way of cleaning it all off safely? or mitigating the amount of flux so this is not an issue? I know most fluxes, depending on choice won't adversely affect anything, but I hate the idea of leaving flux anywhere.

  • @RetroSix

It's really not an issue. All modern flux is no clean flux. But to clean it all off just warm the board up with hot air then clean it with IPA and an anti static brush

@@RetroSix as somebody who has been soldering for over 20 yrs, it’s a constructive criticism comment. A different tip would of made the job easier and look more professional. And a board holder or pcb clamp would of made the job look easier, especially if your promoting swapping components over. Another of your videos, removing the cart socket would of gone smoother if you had used low melt solder.

@@johnburrows7938 Yep no offense taken. I've been soldering for 5+ years and hand build boards with BGA,s 0201s and many much more complicated parts so this really isn't difficult for me at all, and I genuinely see no issue with the soldering that's why I asked. Appreciate the feedback though and yes we have low melt solder too, which we will demo in future.
