Brand New CAT Power Rake (Putting It To The Test) Ultra 4K

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

what's up everyone! so we did a thing, we bought a new PR184 power rake attachment for our CAT 257D Track Skid Steer. Purchased this brand new through our local CAT dealer. This is the first tine we have used one, so still learning lots. Using it to level topsoil and mulch up some grass thats wet with dew.

I’ve been running one of these for fifteen years. Same unit but the 6’ model. Best thing I ever did was go to my cat dealer and get another set of wings so I always have front and back wings on. Every once in a while I’ll take off a front wing to backfill a trench or windrow rocks on really long runs. Otherwise you always want the wings. Foam fill the ties too. Best attachment I’ve ever bought. Made lotsa money with that baby

Great video and great tool! I could be wrong on this but I am pretty sure that they are made to be used in the forward direction most effectively, at least as far as grading is concerned. There is another landscaper that I follow who is really skilled and he claims that is the case. I have done this work for over 20 years and have about 15 employees at the moment and I still learn new things all the time. I appreciate your humility when you said, "we probably did some things wrong". That is exactly the right attitude I think and too many in our field are so full of ego that they think they have a monopoly on best practices. At the end of the day, we are all learning on the fly to some degree. Great video and I hope your season is going well with all the craziness that 2020 brought us.

I rented one recently for a lawn renovation. Did a nice job and i had similar windrow issues. I made two passes 90 degrees from each other to level the yard. Maybe those box guards could be on electric swivels to orientate them between forward and reverse.

@@KenWhiteConstruction they are great attachments but you can't throw just anyone in the loader to run it. The cat looks simpler than ours. We had a bobcat that it's own depth wheels on it's own cylinder on a walking beam that worked great for knocking down piles or running along a berm. Also had the pivot but you could roll your bucket out and pull the gauge wheels up a bit and pivot it to throw material to the inside of a driveway and get an amazing berm on driveways.

totally respect your religious views, im sorry for offending you in that way. my personal views on religion allow me to not look at saying that stuff in a bad way. I will be more cautious of this. thanks for the positive feedback.
