    Honestly I think learning how to cheese a boss and being punished if you mess up by no longer being able to cheese it fits the ethos of sonic perfectly, like messing up and dropping to the bottom level does in normal levels.

    They can be quite busy visually, but I do like these special stages. About the bosses, I mostly just wish you could get rings during the fights. A couple of the latter bosses give you no time to react either, so I didn't feel like I was able to learn how they work while actually fighting them. The Eggman robot boss is actually pretty easy once you know how to do it, but I had to look up how to beat it because of the lack of rings and reaction time issues. I shouldn't have to do that for a Sonic game of all things imo. Also yes, Tee never misses ^^

    Last time I played Superstars was a month ago because my computer broke, but the Spindash was still broken on high refresh rates. I'm gonna have to check when my computer gets fixed though.

    It's not that the bosses are challenging, they are tedious. Their is so much down time between hits.

    Other games have that mechanic too you know, also there's various ways to defeat most boss's with the emerald abilities.

    I like how the fights are engaging, the thought and pressure that you could die at any moment and have to redo everything is actually fun and forces you to keep on your toes and play well and memorize the attacks. Yeah some bosses have animations that go a little too long but it gives you some time to get prepared for the fight

    I could see that last boss being REALLY annoying the first time through, but more tolerable as you get used to his patterns and all that kinda like the miniboss in Hydrocity

    RE: the music, from what I remember I actually like most of the level themes, even a few that people were down on. Unfortunately every single boss theme is surprisingly boring, I don't get what happened there at all!

    The bosses thing is super interesting to me because I`m in the camp of people who really don`t like the bosses in this game. For one I`m of the opinion that a good 2D sonic boss is one that can be fought normally by going through the bosses loop of actions and getting in as many hits as possible during the vulnerable phase, and yet if you find the right technique to do so, you can chease the boss and take it out vary quickly (the boss fights in the classic games don`t tend to last vary long to begin with). I feel like most bosses from 2 and 3&K are good examples of this (and immediately think of the aquatic ruin boss where you can either do thing legit by trying to jump on the arrows and hit robot nik, or you manage to get on top of the columns and repeatedly hit him, using the rebound to get on the other column as he comes at you with the hammer). My issue with this game`s bosses isn`t just that the wait time between hits is super long and tedious (while for the most part also being able to get a single hit at a time) , but also that when the boss starts and between phases there is these entire drawn out cutscene-like moments where the boss slowly meanders into position and a transition slowly happens, instead of things happening in a quick and snappy fashion. There is a cheapness to the way these cutscenes are shown, with slow and stiff movement of the camera, and 0 sound effects, other than this soul crushingly uninspired boss music that is constantly happening with no variation, and actively makes the experience worse. In fact the boss music might be the single biggest reason as to why I can`t stand the bosses (I need to look into replacing the boss music with something that actually gets me pumped or gives me a sense of urgency or danger, rather than just depression) ... It`s basicly sonic 4 ep1 boss music but even less interesting, and without a panic mode variation. Also, the emerald powers are cool in theory but the execution is poor IMO. they should be easier to select IMO and have a cool down. I also think that the existence of these powers doesn`t at all justify the tedious and drawn out nature of these bosses, that means the game is designed to punish you if you didn`t get or already used up the powers The feeling of cheapness that I really got from the way the bosses and sonic move in those cutscenes of sorts are actually something I noticed all throughout the game, in the character animations, and even in the environments and graphics themselves. The game looks visually nice enough, but as I played through the game I keep noticing small details that made me feel like there was an odd lack of attention to detail that made me resent the 2.5D graphics that much more, as someone who doesn`t really like the look to begin with (unless it`s Kirby or Mario Wonder). My early assumption is that you enjoyed the game quite a bit, G, but I personally was surprised at how little I ended up enjoying the game (the level designs didn`t wow me, the camera felt a bit too zoomed in, the level gimmicks either felt odd, frustrating, annoying, or out of place, the level themes were mostly meh with a couple cool exceptions, and the music was a mixed bag ranging from top tier to Sonic 4 dying cat synth). The price tag was the single biggest sin though. That being said, and having quit the game right near the end because of how little it was doing for me, I`m probably going to give the game another shot, but on a handheld this time, to see if the game makes more sense on a smaller screen

    the worst music is the sonic 4 episode 3 stuff...which is a lot...
