@h3llo0 You can skip sugar but when you add a little bit, the taste is much better, that's why I use sugar.

Hi Maangchi, I can't thank you enough for this particular receipe its off the hook and so cheap to make. yes you can use other types of noodles but add them at the last minute. Otherwise, the noodles will get soggy. These dangmyeon (starch noodles) are chewy when cooked.

I know this is an old video but WOW that’s all I can say is WOW! I just made this and it was the BOMB! I just love this lady and all her tutorials! So far I haven’t been let down in any way, she is very upbeat and makes me laugh, her food is very easy and me and my bf just loves it. Hi Maangchi, as a drama watcher, I always saw delicious things set on the tables and thaught that one day, I'll go Korea and eat them... Not only I ate them but made them now !!! You are an amazing cooker and (as a new subscriber) I'm going to learn from you! So whatever new Korean food you think to do, please don't refrain!!!!! I almost cried at the end of the 3rd time watching this video yesterday night (1am to be honest)... and I woke up this morning, went to the store and finally made it! OMO OMO ,I almost cried again after testing it ! People here (picky ones really) enjoyed it like crazy and put a 10/10 (9.5 from the father because of the spicy side). Oh, I almost forgot. Since I made the dish in a hurry, I had to put : - Rice "vermicelle" (in french, instead of starch noodles) - Agave Syrup (instead of rice or corn syrup) - Coconut sugar (instead of dark brown sugar) and - Coconut Oil (instead of Sesamee Oil) Thank you again! bladi bladeboxe hi! just wanted to tell you that sesame oil is one of the essential ingredients in korean cooking. u might know this but i say this with total confidence as i am korean who grew up in korea. :) sesami oil, chili powder, chili paste, garlic, toasted sesame seeds, sesame oil, soy sauce and bean paste are essential. enjoy cooking!! :)
