When the cops show up to take control of the situation in Midwich they end up engaging in friendly fire with the military.
From Village of The Damned (1995): Ten months after the small California town of Midwich was struck by a mysterious event during which everyone in the village fell unconscious at once, 10 local women give birth on the same day. As the unsettlingly calm and unemotional children grow at an abnormally fast rate, it becomes clear that they can read adults' minds and force people to harm themselves. Local doctor Alan Chaffee (Christopher Reeve) and federal agent Susan Verner (Kirstie Alley) must team up to battle the alien children.

I somewhat believe that when the destroying angels are unleashed to punish the world, the armies are going to turn on themselves just like this.
The aliens think they’re superior but they’re wrong. The superior species is the one that can adapt the best to changing circumstances and is best capable of fighting to survive. If there’s two things humans are great at, it’s adapting and fighting. The next time the aliens try their little sleepy-time/impregnate trick it’s not going to end well for them.

They need another remake. David is older. Omg it would be so epic
I like how The Army arrives after a few cop cars are destroyed just like GTA 😂 realistically if police couldn't deal with it I'm pretty sure a Swat Team or some kind of specialized police unit would arrive instead of military.

This movie is bloody violent unlike the two original black and white films in the early 60s which outshine this crummy remake.
This remake is well crap and the original and the sequel COTD which was also black and white are both better than this crummy remake in billions of ways and also one hopes COTS is never remade in colour.
