Brainwashed.com: The Eye - Einstürzende Neubauten

Музыка

After over two decades, Einstürzende Neubauten have reached a point in their career that they don't have to explain themselves any more. However, with the problems in the music business and economy, touring has become increasingly difficult. While the band loves to play and tour, this might be the last US tour in the foreseeable future. The Eye sat down with Blixa who gave a fantastic interview. We talked about the times around the origins of the group, their evolution, battle scars, junkyards, and neubauten.org and some of the amazing activities and benefits that supporters got to take part in.

I am completely hypnotized by Blixa. Only discovered him and Nuebauten this morning and I haven't been able to stop watching their live performances and music videos . Interestingly, in the past I've listened to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds but was never able to really get into them, but Nuebauten is so memorizing that I can't take my eyes and ears off of them

Blixa hit the nail on the head with his assumption that the “music industry is going to hell!” (And I’m not crying about it) I freaking love this guy

Einsturzende Neubauten are my favorite band of all time and I know what's great when I hear it. Like Paco Pena, Mozart, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, and more. Blixa Bargeld is a real genius. Bravo!!!!! Great interview. MERCI!!!!!!

@17:00 is exactly how I am starting to feel right now about my own life and career... Thank you for posting this. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Blixa Bargeld when I was in Berlin, but my band, Anything Box recorded an album at the studio next door to theirs, and I got to meet the band as they were recording. I even got to sample some of the instruments. It was a wonderful time.

Brilliant work, Jon! Thanks to you and Blixa for a great interview. I hope the live footage made its way back to the band, since they couldn't film themselves. I'm amazed that KlarChannel let them play their own instruments or at least Test Dept's. I highly recommend neubauten.org and of course, brainwashed.com (a site I discovered 20 years ago when I first gained internet access and realized my love for C O I L was not so uncommon and that I had my own Sleazy Bear and that we weren't outcasts bc preferred the secret domain of love and Coil to Britney and Topless 40.) Thanks Jon for another great interview and for the excellence brainwashed.com has sustained during the last 22 years. And I am now certain my tastes aren't so unusual. xxxooo

Same band 35 years ago was certainly much cooler. And the singer wouldn't burp during interviews all the time.

I remember them live in the 80s when I was a kid and they were phenomenal! Then I saw them back when Tabula Rasa came out and they were far more mainstream but really good. Then I saw them live again a few years ago and they were an average electronic act which made me very very sad. I understand it's a job for them and they cannot just retire anytime but still it is so nice when a band says what it has to say and then goes home. Tabula Rasa should have been their last record.

"Halber Mensch", "Perpetuum Mobile", "Alles Wieder Offen" and "Lament" blow "Tabula Rasa" away! In other words, I'm glad they didn't listen to you.

Not sure what “average electronic band” your referring ?!? Some didn’t like their “quiet” sound but I disagree
