Never understood the Russian design of the vertical tube. We fire at lower angles because the hardware takes less time to setup, the missile wastes a lot less fuel on the launch burn, is more accurate, and can reposition to avoid counter battery fire in a shorter time.

Yeah... I noticed that. Pretty bad ass. The initial firing charge out of the canister gets it out, then at about 100', you see 3 or 4 thrust vectoring nozzels orient the missle horizontally. Then it fly's to the target at over 2000mph and drops down to 20'. Practically un stoppable.

The usa and its western partners put nuke eggs in various baskets. There are fewer than a dozen of these baskets in Europe. Russia has hypersonic missiles capable of hitting these baskets before the egg nukes can be unstacked, moved to the flight line and sent on their way. P-800 is not a sub-variant of BrahMos, it's opposite. BrahMos is a variant/derivation of Yakhonit that is an export version of Oniks. Oniks was developed in 1987, BrahMos way later. Yakhonit/BrahMos have a shorter range than Oniks, but more modern software and guidance.

There are newer variants of the Oniks already deployed in in vast quantities. Like the more reliable and faster Oniks-M with a current firing range of 800 km (being upgraded to 1,200km), ECCM capabilities and enhanced accuracy of hitting sea and ground targets, for kh61 and K-300P Bastion-P. The Brahmos only goes up to 300km. The 450-500km version are still under test.

Brahmos is a derivative of the Yakhont cruise missile and not the Russian Onyx. I think Yakhont is the export version of the Onyx. The Brahmos might have better guidance and targeting systems than the current production model of P-800.

Patriot,as most of Western military equipment is overhyped system that is not good as advertised.Patriot system couldn't shoot down certain missiles in Iraq 20 years ago...to shoot down more modern/capable missiles 20 years after is misguided and ridiculous expectation.

patriots are too expensive to be deployed in every city of interest, they are outdated. think even israel iron dome might not be successful against low approaching missiles like onyz

That's a great point. They're gaining so much knowledge on how to fight a modern war with State of the art technology. Like you said, all this experience on what is needed to defeat our defences is invaluable. China is watching too.
