Brahmapuram Waste A positive View - The International Day of Zero Waste (March 30)

My Fifty-Second video attempts to take Brahmapuram - Waste in a Positive View
on The International Day of Zero Waste, observed annually on 30 March.
More than Sixteen years ago, around 60 families were forcefully evacuated from a village called Brahmapuram. Authorities chose the village as the official waste dump of Kochi.
Faulty Waste management make a beautiful Village disappear.
The following year-old "Story of the Brahmapuram waste plant that suffocates Kochi city" still hold true.

Shadow Art
Shadow art is a type of sculptural art that uses shadows to create an artistic effect. The 2D shadows are cast by 3D sculptures and can give rise to a work that is wonderful, inspiring and unnerving!
The process of transformation, from discarded waste, scrap metal or even taxidermy creatures to a recognizable image, echoes the idea of 'perceptual psychology' a form of evaluation used for psychological patients.
Tim Noble and Sue Webster take ordinary things including rubbish, to make assemblages and then point light to create projected shadows which show a great likeness to something identifiable including self-portraits. The art of projection is emblematic of transformative art.

Lyrics:
The International Day of Zero Waste, observed annually on 30 March, highlights both the importance of bolstering waste management globally and the need to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Every year, humanity generates between 2.1 billion and 2.3 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste. Some 2.7 billion people lack access to waste collection, 2 billion of whom live in rural areas. Waste pollution significantly threatens well-being, economic prosperity, and accelerates the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution. Without urgent action, annual municipal solid waste generation will hit 3.8 billion tonnes by 2050.
Millions worldwide observed the inaugural International Day of Zero Waste in 2023, raising awareness of national, subnational, regional, and local zero-waste initiatives and their contribution to achieving sustainable development. Zero-waste approaches can foster sound waste management and minimize and prevent waste generation.
