Brangus should be number 1. I raise 16 of them, 15 cows and 1 bull here in Texas. They are amazing animals. Very heat tolerant, great mothering ability, low birth rates, they grow bigger than Angus and they taste like Angus. They are amazing.

My favorite are the Santa Gertrudis cattle. My father raised this breed and they’re very gentle. He purchased a Santa Gertrudis bull back in the late 80s early 90s for 5k. His father sold for 50k.

Brangus cattle should be number one. Simbrah are nuts and can be dangerous period. Brangus and Beefmaster are one and two here in Texas.

I work them daily. When you have cattle that are naturally aggressive, it makes it difficult to work them, feed them, check calves etc. most ranchers I know and speak with in Texas feel the same way about Simbrahs. That doesn’t make them bad cattle. More ranchers would have them if they not only had that rep but live up to it.

Yes that would be appreciated. Also is it necessary that the ratio be exactly like these, for example the simbra can't be produced by 100% Simmental and 100% Brahman

I think the point is they have the potential to produce more milk than most of the breeds featured in this video, because their ancestry is 25% Milking Shorthorn. I would "guess" the Simbrah might surpass them, however, because Simmental was often selected as a dual purpose breed in some of the European countries.

I like Simbra more, otherwise I go for pure Brahaman.

No Beefmasters are not the first American composite breed. That would be Santa Gertrudis. They were developed on the King Ranch in the early 20the century. This is per the USDA. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Tom Lasater developed the Beefmaster in the early 1930's. It was recognized by the USDA as a breed in 1954. The King Ranch made some exploratory crosses in 1910 or 1911 with a part zebu bull and Shorthorn cows. The results were promising, so a few years later they aquired some high zebu content bulls and began development of what later became the Santa Gertrudis breed. By the mid to late 1930's, they had a line of cattle that fit their vision. The Santa Gertrudis was recognized by the USDA in 1940. So the development of the Beefmaster was "finalized" slightly prior to the Santa Gertrudis, but official recognition by the USDA was given to the Santa Gertrudis prior to the Beefmaster.

Nope. Bradfords were developed at the Adams Ranch in Florida. Not Australia. Look that up.

Brafords were developed both in Australia in 1946 and in Florida in 1947. There are two lines of pure Braford, Australian and American Braford.

Despite a few similarities, the Zebu (Bos namadicus indicus) and Domestic Cattle (Bos primigenius taurus) are not closely related, they evolved from different species of aurochs, the zebu is the only extant subspecies of Paleotropical Aurochs (Bos namadicus) while the domestic cattle is the only extant subspecies of Palearctic Aurochs (Bos primigenius), indicating the zebu and domestic cattle evolved their domesticated lifestyle independently with one another, a fantastic example of convergent evolution, very similar to the evolution of sloths in which the Two-Toed Sloths (genus Choloepus and family Choloepodidae) are more closely related to the extinct mylodontid ground sloths while the Three-Toed Sloths (genus Bradypus and family Bradypodidae) are more closely related to the extinct megatheriid and megalonychid ground sloths.

I doubt these “ facts”. Many dates, uses, and noted popularity do not co-inside with what is seen in real world cattle production. General assumptions and numbers presented conflict with known information about various crossbreeds
