Bradley Hughes Golf- Are You Ball Bound?- Here Is The Fix

Спорт

The biggest swing mistake for the poor to average golfer is they have too much focus on the golf ball. Impact is an occurrence at the bottom of the swing- not the goal to play good golf. In this video I use my Trackman to show you the fix to swinging freer- striking the ball more solidly time & time again and how you can gain total control over your golf ball, no matter the club in hand. One of the best. As a constant tinkerer of my golf swing, I try new things get into trouble and invariably I return to these videos to get back my sanity and my golf swing. These swing thoughts + 4.30 path just works for me. Cant tell why, but it just works!

Yes! Our swing actions are all the result of our mind intentions, both right and wrong intentions, and conscious and subconscious intentions. Being ball bound is hell. I can do a perfect practice swing, step up to the ball, and do a completely different ball bound swing. I had an experience illustrating the power of the mind and intention. My friend had hit it to 2 feet on a par 3. He playfully challenged: "Top that!" All I remember was seeing his ball 2 feet right of the hole. (I can still see it today, over 40 years later, white and sitting there.) Then, looking right at the hole the entire time I pulled the club from my bag and stepped up to the ball. Zero other thoughts. The ball went as high as I ever hit it, came down on an almost completely vertical trajectory, landed about 16" behind the cup, and spun back directly into the hole. My friend went nuts with excitement, because he knew it was what he said, that triggered what followed. If he had said nothing, it never would have happened! He triggered "the zone" of focus. The mind/body relationship is amazing. Best advice in golf is make your target as small as possible, and take dead aim mentally.

This is the single best golf instruction I’ve ever received. Took this to the course today and was shaping shots in a way that I never thought possible.

Thanks a lot! I’m in my 3rd year of golf and i made some good improvements at the beginning. Then i was more and more focused on details like right elbow, left knee or to keep my head behind the ball and all this things. The swing felt more and more uncomfortable while i was trying hard to control the clubface and the ballflight. To set a goal what should be happen in front of the Ball without thinking to any details was the missing link in my swing. That was probably the best advice in golf i ever got. Thanks again and many greetings from germany!

Knowing what you have to do, and doing it are worlds apart. You have bucket loads of talent, especially as you can fade, draw and loft at will. To those that are capable of doing what you are showing to us here....this video represents the finest golf instruction on the web.

Hi Bradley, I got fitted for the new srixon 785 irons. During the fitting the guy told me I was stalling and flipping. He suggested flattening the lie angle 2 deg to help me swing around my body more. Then I found your channel and its phenomenal the difference. I bent my 7 iron from 61 to 58 deg and went to the range. Following your instruction I was hitting screamers shaping both ways knock downs etc. I'm blown away thank you.

I’ve seen Bradley do this in person. Started his takeaway and then hit the fade when I called it out. Amazingly simple concept, but after decades of “hitting”, still hard to master. I know I’m ball bound-I have plenty of wonderful mirror swings with no ball to prove it. Stick with this guy and his drills, his insights about the great players and equipment-he knows what he’s talking about.

remember the feeling is 3 feet beyond the strike. I set people up to make all this happen with my drill series so (depending on what components are already in place in your swing) this may be an earned thing rather than a just happen thing

Great stuff! I tried this today with my 58 degree lob wedge. Although I wasn't working the ball much with a draw or fade, ball striking was very good and effortless. Can't wait to get to the range with other clubs. too bad winter is coming fast!

David Musall you wont draw or fade a high lofted club as much as the extra loft will tend to put more upspin on the ball rather than sidespin - and the shorter shaft will produce less plane shift than I was doing with an 8 iron in the video... its why people will slice (in particular) or hook longer less lofted clubs as they produce more side spin than upspin/backspin

Tried both of these tips and they worked wonders! The one thing I had to keep in mind was to keep my head stable on the through swing. When I did that I achieved the desired results. With the draw I was kind of whipping my head around with the right shoulder...when I avoided that it worked like a charm.

Hi Bradley- with one of the training aids that "click" at the bottom where should I focus on having the click occur? I know from you out in front of the ball, but a general idea would be great. Thanks!

Matthew Stensrud am sure it would click close to impact- the later the feeling of clicking it beyond impact is in the awareness the closer to things lining up at impact would happen... sooner you try click it the earlier it would generally occur

Is there anything that I could do to practice this? It’s really difficult to master this. When I’ve done it, ball striking has been great across the board. I always go back to this video when I’m struggling. Should I focus more on my shoulders depending on the shape I want to achieve? I’m just Kindve lost at the moment.

It's true what he says, but he's a pro and he can do whatever he wants with the ball....but if 15-HC like me is trying to hit a fade with equipment designed to prevent a slice (woods and irons)....it's much harder. Now, we can go spend money on forged irons with less offset, and woods with neutral settings, I suppose. But usually a mid-HC can't hit those consistently. The more I watch these videos, the more I'm leaning toward getting fitted. Let a good fitter take YOUR swing, and put you with the clubs that will help you the most. The problem with that is finding someone that knows what they're doing.

  • @GolfAusBradleyHughesGolf

eddie brown get your clubs setup to how you want to swing rather than where your swing is or to hide deficiences- brain and body need feedback to evolve to a better way- club setup is important but dont let club fitter dictate you based on one session... use your coach or my guidelines to fit yourself to where you are headed and not where you currently are

@@GolfAusBradleyHughesGolf I wholeheartedly agree with Bradley, because I flattened the lie angles on my irons 2 degrees and was amazed at the improvement. Once I got used to the flattened lie angles, my contact and dispersion improved greatly. The up & down motion of my swing was eliminated and I no longer had to early extendable flip my hands to release the club. The flattened lie angles forced me to rotate my body on my downswing. Consequently, my contact was much better and I no longer feared losing shots to the left through impact. Out really is down and down really is up, as Bradley states in one of his other videos.
