    The stars do just fine off endorsement money, it's the hunger for the game that motivates them

    If you think it's the money, you don't know superstars. Superstars don't care about the money. CP3 said he literally would play for free. MJ played his last 3 years and donated his entire salary away. Some veterans about to retire play for minimum salary contract to stay in the league to continue the grind and spread the ball wisdom. Beal was the number 3rd draft pick. The motivation for basketball was already there, when he was getting paid $0, starting from age 5 as a little kid. This is their life.

    NBA players typically do some unique stuff, even though I workout I always wondered how hard their workouts are. This the first time where I could visually tell that these workouts aint no joke, takes a ton of practice, focus, and mental fortitude to get good at these exercises, this is a crazy grind smh. Expecting to see wild results on the floor this year from Beal!

  • @aaronabraham1785

    @aaronabraham1785

    3 жыл бұрын

    I'm not a trained professional so I can't get super specific, but the big themes I saw are core strength/stability, and making sure things are balanced (so single-leg work). All the exercises that introduced asymmetry, whether single leg, or one arm, whatever, makes the core work. The ab rollout is an anti-extension core exercise; the core is meant to keep the spine from going too much into extension. All the single leg work makes sure one leg isn't doing too much work, but rather sharing the load equally. And obviously all these exercises work strength, but the main one here that was really heavy was the deadlift, which is great for basically every muscle on the backside of your body. One thing I speculate is that these guys aren't necessarily trying to put on a lot of mass, they want to stay springy and agile while gaining strength. That's why other than maybe some squatting and deadlifting, which are simply essential, they're doing more unique stuff like this, not necessarily bench pressing (at least what I've seen in a handful of videos). I think one could argue for most athletes, the number one focus can be core strength and stability, so abdominal muscles, glutes, and lower back muscles (basically).
