I'm using invisalign, and I'm on week 21. Where I live they're quite new, so they're like 3 times more expensive. I'm very responsable, so I always wear my invisalign all the time, they helped me build a great habit of brushing my teeth for 5 minutes, and after each meal. I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing, and they've helped me so much with my confidence

I 💯% agree with this. Wore braces as a teen in hs and I had the most perfect smile during my senior yr. Fast 4ward yrs later with a lost retainer and shifted teeth I tried aligners for obvious reasons as I am now in my 30's but I found after 20wks I walked away with more issues than I came in with. Kept telling my Ortho during treatment too but here I am now in freaking braces to fix canted misaligned teeth when all I wanted was to close back my gap. Moral of the story is WEAR YOUR RETAINERS & really do your hw when it comes to finding an orthodontist. FML!😮‍💨😭💔

  • @Nflguy4949
    @Nflguy49493 жыл бұрын

I had severe crowding and decided to get Invisalign a few years ago. The first few months were awful. It hurt soooo bad putting aligner trays in and it especially hurt taking them out. Once you put the aligners on after 15 minutes or so the pain would go away. I would often skip snacks and/or meals because I wasn’t in the mood for the pain I wound feel taking them out and putting back in. Something else to consider with Invisalign is that you’re supposed to brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in which is easy enough when you’re home but it’s a real pain in the butt when you’re at a restaurant or at school etc.The buttons/attachments felt like I had rocks on my teeth and they would irritate the inside of my mouth/cheeks. I definitely would not recommend Invisalign for kids. Besides, the benefit of being able to take out your aligners and eat whatever you want is somewhat overrated since it was so painful taking the aligner out there was no way I was going to eat anything that you wouldn’t be able to eat with braces anyway.

I’ve had Invisalign for a year and you don’t have to brush your teeth after you take them out. They’ve worked great;I’m super happy with how they’re working. They only hurt a little in the beginning and the day after you switch to a different tray.

The pain is far beyond none and the only problem I have with invisalign is having to take them out to eat. But its not that big of issue for me. Traditional braces made me miserable and constantly in pain. I had them for 8 years so trust me, it effin sucked. I can talk without an issue, don't have my lips and gums aggravated or bleeding. I’m currently 3/4 through my Invisalign treatment and I’ve been happy with it. What isn’t mentioned most importantly is that Invisalign has limitations compared to conventional bracers. They cannot correct the more complex and more involved treatments. There is also modern conventional bracers that can be placed behind the teeth which make them even more discreet than Invisalign… but the cost for them are astronomically higher. Lastly not a huge issue but Invisalign can get dirty with bacteria forming plaque… which you need to maintain, either with hydrogen peroxide mix or light brushing.

Well said. I had to do both. Invisalign straightened my teeth about 80% of the way. After a few adjustments with my aligners my teeth would not move any further so they ended up still a bit crooked and unfortunately the last 20% is the most important part! After a few years I got braces and they straigntened things up 100%. Honestly i didnt mind the braces and i found the invisalign aligners as being annoying and would get smelly.

A tip I found with the lain with invisalign is sticking a ice cube in your mouth I tried it out one day to see if it would go away and it did and I could have my retainer in without pain, until it melted of course And with people taking it out when it hurts, that's called your teeth responding to the treatment lol? I got to have my invisalign be done early because I did so well with keeping it in at all times and such And one more downside with invisalign is the buttons. I had to have buttons because of my over bite and I will never want to have them back. They are basicly a small metal rod that is place on your canine teeth (or at least thats where mine were) elastics hook from the button to hook attachments on your bottom molars (this also has a bar from the buttons to your top molars, mine was to secure my canine teeth i think) and until you get used to them, you lip gets caught.

I didn't get braces because if I did, my orthodontics said I had to take out SEVERAL teeth out. which was 150 dollars per tooth. Plus I didn't like the idea of not being able to eat some food such as chewy foods, which I love. I hate Invisalign because you have to be REALLY responsible with them. But they make a big difference in not that much days! My biggest flex with them is that I can eat anything I wasn't without having to worry about braces being broken.

I’m on week 11 of my Invisalign treatment and honesty it’s pretty great! I’ve always feared braces because I get so much anxiety about if I have food stuck in my teeth and nobody telling me, which was the main reason i chose Invisalign! Other reasons are because I have a pretty small mouth and didn’t want to have braces and all the appliances in because that’s all you would see. Also because cleaning braces always seemed like so much work and I’ve always heard they are quite painful. I am pretty responsible so I try to only have my trays out for 2-4 hours a day and sometimes it can be a struggle cause you basically have time limits for how long you can eat and brush your teeth and trays before getting them back in (the only reasons I’ve found to take them out so far). You have to make sure your teeth are clean before you put them in after eating (eating anything or drinking anything but cold water) which can be such a hassle. I’ve got at least 47 weeks of trays (new tray every 7 days) so quite a while but I’m excited to have my teeth and jaw fixed to where I want them! I’ve already got a LOT of tooth gaps happening in my back teeth so there’s that! I’m getting there! I’m really enjoying Invisalign and even if it can take longer, as long as you wear them and are good about oral hygiene, it’s really nice to have the freedom to take them out to eat and all that. (Sad I can’t drink tea with my trays in though...worst part lol)

One thing he didn’t mention is the pain. The pain in braces is MUCH worse than the pain on the other. You can literally feel the metal poking your cheeks and the first few weeks are literally hell with braces. Invisalign on the other hand is a decent/tolerable pain that’s more of a hindrance. As the guy said, it just depends on discipline with Invisalign. All in all though, braces are generally useless these days and the only reason you would get them are if they happened to be cheaper or if you’re a kid with 0 discipline. If you’re an adult and you have the money to afford Invisalign, it’s by far 100% more worth it cause having discipline is not really hard. You already shower and brush everyday so a mild pain for only a few weeks isn’t going to harm you compared to a massive aching uncomfortable pain.

Ok I feel disrespected for me at least Invisalign I'm about a week away from finishing only took 10 months so about half the time and it ways easier then braces, you just got to brush your teeth after every time you eat and clean your trays when there dirty, he says your teeth are gonna stain, that's completely false you just got to be responsible and brush after every meal and snack. The only drawback that I've experienced is that I don't eat snacks that much anymore because I don't feel like brushing my teeth after, but you could if you feel like it though.

I have the invisalign, and for me, is 100% better than the other type. Doesn't hurt, it's easy to clean your teeth, and the treatment time is short, compared to the other.

I havs invisalign! Its awesome. I remove them to eat. If I am out dining, I go to the ladies room, and rinse them and my mouth out before putting them back in. During my work day, I have floss and mini toothbrush & toothpaste with me. So it is pretty much the same as being attentive to my looks during the day. I travelled aswell and it wasnt bad aswell. I timed when I was going to eat around when the food comes and put them back on after a bathroom run. People wouldnt know or care if you act as if you must go to the ladies room ever so often.

I had Invisalign for 2 1/2 years (Yes I had an extreme case haha). They weren't completely working the way my Orthodontist wanted so she switched me to metal braces. I LOVE metal braces so much more than invisalign!

I had Invisalign I didn't have any attachments or rubber bands. I simply got new trays every two weeks. Each new tray was tighter than the previous one until the teeth moved and then back to a new tray. I was about 52 when I had them. Worked great.

I need to get braces/Invisalign, as well as a mouth widener because my mouth is small. (I do love eating lot though-) so I feel like I should go with the Invisalign because it’s more convenient and the foods I need to help me get through the day aren’t fit for braces- but I don’t know which to get if I’m being honest- cause if I get the braces, the wires will scrape the crap outta my cheeks- but Invisalign will help me to actually keep my day going as if nothing had happened- soreness in my mouth/jaw areas aren’t “normal” per say, but easy for me to deal with because of smiling for so long everyday and mouth becoming sore- sorry for this becoming such a long comment, I just ramble on a lot of the time- but this helped me to think about a few things, so thank you!

I used Invisalign as a teenager. I loved it and thought it was way easier than braces. Before getting Invisalign though, I would make sure you know the responsibility it comes with. You need to wear them at all times unless you’re eating and be able to keep up with them. If you’re mature and responsible enough for that, I would highly suggest Invisalign! I loved mine.

Well from what I herd from my orthodontist, Metal braces with rubber bands actually help with over/under bites and straighten your teeth while Invisalign just helps with straightening ur teeth.

They took a new cast of my crooked-again teeth and gave me a crooked retainer. I gotta get my teeth done again and it's expensive and time consuming!!! Just do what your orthodontist says 😂😭😂

So I lot of my friends don’t know I have braces! Also really good for dance competitions!

Sadly, I didn't have a choice whether I got braces or invisalign because I get MRI's every 6 months so I can't have the metal in my mouth. So in May I started my Invisalign treatment and honestly it is really great! Besides the fact that you have to take them off to eat or drink anything besides water. And my invisalign treatment is only lasting a total of 6 months.

@@marizelasilva1082 Oh yes! The first day is always the hardest to get them off. I struggled with them for awhile until I was able to get them off for the first time. My best advice is for the top ones to grab the inside part of the invisalign in the back of your mouth and keep alternating sides until it comes off, you may need to use a bit of force since this is your first set. For the bottom aligned do the exact same thing but grab the outer part of the invisalign so like the front part of your teeth. Just make sure to grab the back of the aligners and it will eventually get easier. Hope this helps!
