@@anjelynn7314 I have 4 elastics in and this is my second time in braces. It didn't hurt this much the first time and I never took them out unless I was eating or brushing my teeth. This is the first time I am being bad 🙊..because it hurts so bad and I am hungry 😭

I'm 55 years old. It's NEVER too late to get braces! 73 days into the treatment and I'm loving them. I had an upper power chain and coil spring fitted today. I also have class 3 elastics. Your videos are very informative. Many thanks.

Make sure you get some wax. A true mouth saver! Take some Advil or Tylenol before you get them on too. It’ll help with any discomfort. It will be well worth it in the end! ☺️ (I had them at 20 and have to get them again at 37 🤦🏼‍♀️)

So I’m 7 weeks in with Damon metal braces and tbh no pain what so ever, didn’t need any painkillers it was hard to eat first few days due to my bite block on one side but got used to it by the end of the week also used some wax first 3-4 days but my cheeks got used to it, now I have parrot elastics literally was given them today hence I’m back here lol and it’s not painful .. well not yet lol

I’ve had my braces on for 24 months now, idk when I’m going to get them taken off, my next appointment is on the 29th, wish me luck!

Midline video is the thing I am pretty interested into! I am 5th month into my braces journey and I have a small midline difference, one side crossbite with a narrow upper jaw, so a cross bite video will be also pretty interesting! Thanks for making such an awesome content! 😊

I have a variation of class 2; first bottom molar to first top premolar. I’m almost 2 months in and have noticed significant movement already, braces are truly magical 😍

I’d love to see a video about the different time periods of braces treatment and the side effects of them. I’ve been wearing my braces for over 4 years now and still counting. I just want to have some sort of idea of what could happen or just more general knowledge

Love your videos! I got my braces put on May 13, 2019 at the age of 31 and I felt like it was the biggest mistake ever. @jaj4706 I felt like I had made a mistake, mostly because of the pain at first. They absolutely shredded the inside of my lips, and I couldn't get any relief. It was awful. Then seeing the transition and worrying that the outcome wouldn't be the best and thinking maybe the before wasn't so bad. Haha I just worry about everything and braces were no exception. They are a huge expense and wondering if it would be worth it was unnerving at times. Surprisingly, after a while, I kind of enjoyed having them and was sad to see them go. My teeth aren't "perfect" after having braces, but I do think it was worth it.

@jessicab331 Yes, I have had them off since October 2021! I was very careful and tried to do everything right as well because it came out of my pocket! Braces are expensive! And for me, I had added travel costs because my orthodontist was over an hour away. Haha. So, I definitely tried my best to be as careful as possible. I hope your second journey with braces is a good one! They will be off before you know it! I miss mine sometimes. Haha.

I would absolutely love to see the midline video. Going through that myself now, but he hasn't started treating for me for that yet. It's next. Thank you so much for all of the information in your videos.

I had class 2, triangles, class 2 triangles, and anterior box elastics over the span of about a year and a half and now my teeth are perfect!

I have the one for the overbite but since my last appointment last month, my ortho told me that I now only have to wear the elastics when sleeping, not during daytime anymore 🥳🥳

I think your videos are great for patient education. I stumbled across your channel a while ago. I have stolen your analogy of rolling a ball up a hill for a lot of things when advising patients (like wearing aligners or wearing elastics)! Keep up the great work.

I had a variant of class 2 elastics. My ortho crimped one of those hooks on the wire in between the brackets on my middle and lateral incisors on either side and I wore the elastics going from those hooks back to my molars on the bottom. Worked super fast for me.

Yess to both videos please!! I am currently wearing Zebra for my class 2 elastics and triangle elastics patterns and Leopard size elastics for the Anterior Box pattern.

I'm so glad I found this page.

My midline was off because when I was a kid, I took one of my brother's elastics and put it around my two front top teeth for several hours to lessen the gap. Only one tooth moved, so my midline wound up uncentered. Ended up with a gap next to the tooth that moved, but I didn't really notice it for years, and from head on, it wasn't as bad as the center gap was. My dad wouldn't pay for braces for me after my brother didn't wear his retainer, so here I am at 35 with braces after repeatedly delaying getting them since age 19/20.

@@DrGregAsatrian Hi! New to your videos and i love your channel ❤ i have a question i hope you see, im wearing my bands in the class 2. My top teeth seem to be tilted forward. My dr said he needed to do that to create space and he tilted my lowers out to meet my top. But i dont like the way my bite looks. Some front teeth dont even meet. And he is ready to scan me for my retainers. Should i say something?? And Main question js WOULD WEARING THEM LIKE SHOWN IN CLASS 2, FIX THE FOWARD TILT ISSUE?

Hello Dr. Greg!! I just want to start off by saying thank you so much for your videos. You’re channel is my ‘go to, for all the questions I have on my braces journey. Although you do an outstanding job at answering all of my questions... I just have one unanswered about elastics. Does a patient have to wait until a certain point in their braces journey to start wearing the elastic bands? I’m asking because I’m about 3 months in and my mid lines are slightly off (only I’ve noticed) and sadly my orthodontist hasn’t really made this journey fun and full of information during my visits. It just feels like I am part of his routine and I don’t get the chance to ask questions because he’s already out of the door and onto the next patient. Thanks in advance and I’m sending you a really huge smile from Menifee, CA 😁

This video was VERY helpful. I currently have kobayashi ties in the front and they have been tearing up my mouth. This is my second time having braces and I’ve never been in so much pain. An extended video on how to deal with and/or ease the pain would be greatly appreciated.

Triangle on the right side and class ll on the left. I also have a midline problem but my ortho said we’ll work with that in a few months or so

I wore class II elastics for at least 3 visits, yesterday they changed it to triangle, I had a small overbite so understand why class II, but I'm not sure why they made me wear triangle but since they are the experts I'm gonna continue wear them even if they hurt a lot!

Please do a video on midline corrections! I am currently looking at getting braces to close the gaps where my second premolars were taken out due to overcrowding, but I am interested to hear what can be done about my midline shift.

Great video! Thank you for making these series! I started wearing elastics from the beginning of my treatment. They are attached on the inside of my last molars and on the outside to my second molars, I am not sure if i explain correctly... can you tell what these will achieve 🤔☺️

with my first set of braces I had the canine to canine cross but I also had elastics that attached to metal buttons on the lingual of my top molars and attached to the buccal of my bottom molars. I think they were expanding my upper arch

Can you please do more specifitc overjet and narrow pallet videos. My orthodontist appointment is coming in the end of the month and I am so scared to go. There is not enough information on the internet and would help a lot cases like mine. Thanks for the thorough information shares. :)

my ortho told me that i’ll be having my elastics on my next appointment since the midline of my teeth are not straight as is, and i also have overbites 😭 and since i have my molar extracted, there’s a big gap between my last teeth and the teeth after the molar that was extracted 😭 if possible, can you do a video about midline and overbites (like how my situation right now) it would give me more insights and knowledge about my journey. thank you so much! your videos are so informative. 😍😍😍
