I recall watching this series, the Nissan's, the Toyota's, and the Jaguars at PIR back in the day.... These cars were on a different level, the sound, the speed, it was awesome...
Wonderful! Thanks for uploading. I was 10-11 years old during the '88 season but remember watching some of the these races. I've been a Nissan/Datsun enthusiast ever since. I did my first track day in my '86 300ZX turbo. And I still LOVE the VG30 engine. I had the pleasure of seeing one of the Electramotive GTP cars at Road Atlanta in 2005. A true work of art from my perspective. Thank you Kas Kastner and Nissan for making a fan for life.

I currently own my 3rd VG30 powered Nissan. Humble it may be compared to the GTP, the production version of a race engine is usually as close as us punters get to such greatness. A great little powerplant, mine has over 200k on it and runs like a swiss watch. RIP Kas.
I was a teenager when I saw the Nissan battle the 962’s at Road Atlanta.. the sound, speed, and beauty of those incredible machines cannot be understated. In person, they were absolutely awesome.
The best car from the best era of IMSA. I was a fan of it back in the day and recorded every race. John Morton had been a Nissan racer for a long time by 1988. He won an SCCA national championship in 1971 in Datsun 240Z.
Low key the best IMSA related documentary.
Geoff and David Brabham , mates of mine, thanks Kas for giving us this and the Nissan what memories and the teams they competed against and drivers of sheer class that drove those races was incredible
The Electramotive Nissan GTP ZX-Turbo was my favorite car if the GTP era. Watching this video and reading Chris Willes' recent book makes the 1988 season more remarkable for you and the team.
The most badass Nissan ever!
So glad I was there to see it

That flip at Lime Rock gave rise to the aptly named John Morton Chicane.

Do you have 1989-1991 season reviews
Does anyone know who owns the car? I have the original windshield signed by the driver

The car is owned by Nissan. They do not even know what the car is and that it has won so much, it was at the Laguna track a couple weeks ago for a big Nissan get together and they were refering to it as the "Elvis " car which was sold and has been in Europe for twenty five years. Those folks are out of touch.
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe ...
Unsaid here was that the "ridicule" was when it was the Electramotive entered car....and that was nothing compared to what Mazda met up with when they fielded their 4-rotor car...
over 9000lb of downforce!

I was wondering how the body work was strong enough to have the whole crew sit on the car.
The fellas had a "secret unauthorized" p car under a tarp, Nissan people showed-up one day, seen it, and locked the doors, 250x. Toolboxes out front if I remember right.
