Great victory for Brazil! Some people are saying other teams are not playing with their best athletes, but so is Brazil, this was the first complete match for Carol and Thaisa is still recovering from an injury. Let’s not forget the team played with an improvised middle blocker in the first set and then the injured Julia K could have made an impact in the team’s morale what notoriously didn’t happen.

​@@Tomazitoumeh que tem algumas seleções que só dão valor pra olimpíada e Mundial, ai utilizam dessas competições pra dar descanso para as principais jogadoras e dar experiência pra jogadoras mais jovens. ZRG gosta de ganhar tudo, mas tbm ta usando a VNL pro time entrosar e chegar melhor preparado nas olimpíadas.

O problema é lesão das jogadores principais, como aconteceu com a Carol e Júlia, ainda bem que com a Carol não foi nada, mas pelo jeito a lesão da Júlia foi grave infelizmente

For us, Serbians, victory is victory, so congrats to Brazil 🎉 As for the topic: unlike practically all other countries, Serbia will not send A SINGLE top player on this tournament. Unlike other countries, not just in week 1 - we will not send them AT ALL Our top players are resting and preparing for the Olympic. This is officially our trial tournament for future A team - bench. That's why this is not even a B team: with so many young players, playing for the first time on senior level- this is our C team. Furthermore- in week 3 the best players from this squad will stay in Belgrade, and group of new young debutantes will join this team instead. This is Serbian volleyball association strategy. VNL is not a priority, especially in the Olympic year or World championship year. Good luck on VNL, greetings from Belgrade ❤❤

Igual Sérvia e China na última olimpíadas, fizeram a mesma coisa de esconder o jogo, e quando chegaram nos jogos eles caíram, não chegaram às finais, e todo Mundo achava que a final seria EUA X China ou EUA X Sérvia, e não foi, os EUA enfrentaram o Brasil, time pelo qual nem mesmo nós brasileiros acreditávamos que chegaria na final, lembro quase todo mundo falando que chegaria no máximo nas quartas... Sendo que tanto a seleção brasileira quanto a seleção norte-americana não pouparam as jogadoras na VNL que antecedeu Tóquio 2020, embora os EUA tbm tenham costume de rodar as jogadoras, em ano olímpico eles costumam fazer como o Brasil, ou sejam, tentam tudo.

Brazil has always been a solid candidate for olympic gold since 1996 🥰

This match was not really a test for Brazil, but more of a test for Serbia’s young players. Ivanovic and Kurtagic were impressive to me from Serbian side. They are still young but I think they have contributed a lot this week. I hope the coach lets Ana Cristina rest and not play every match because she got injured last year and this year is Olympics. We can see how important she is to the Brazilian team. I hope that Julia K is not badly injured from today’s match 😔 Like what we always see in VakifBank, Gabi was on fire again. I should have added Ana Cristina in my VNL Fantasy starting lineup… ❤️🇧🇷🇷🇸

She and the other Serbian top players are in Belgrade, preparing for the Olympics: and - none of Serbian A players will come to VNL thus year, but only more and more of our youngsters in week 3. As for domination on VNL: Good luck to Brazil, ofc. But Poland looks good, too. Then, Italy must play at least in VNL Semi's, to qualify for the Olympics. Actually, quite a few teams are strong candidates this year. Hard to predict before the second week, this is a long competition..
