Larkfield Junction (Glasgow WCML) on 19th May 1992
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Larkfield Jn Just outside Glasgow Central on the WCML route taken on 19/05/1992. Courtesy of the land owner I was granted access to this superb vantage point overlooking the junction to Central station and the lines to Paisley/Pollockshaws. You may need to seek a rail atlas to fully understand the location. But a very intensive location this is, for both LE movements from Polmadie and Freight and passenger expresses on the mainlines. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. What an excellent location! Not only the WCML and Polmadie traffic, but also the ore trains and others taking the Clydesdale line and a good view of the old Gushetfaulds Freightliner depot; not much using the chord to the Barrhead lines however. Some great memories here, thanks for sharing.

I guess the 156s were on the Edinburgh - Glasgow via Shotts service?

That sounds about right CBS. By then we had them up our line to Barrhead, Kilmarnock on to Carlisle and even a service to Newcastle!

Great to see some traditional trains from the good old days! Am I right in thinking that at 9:30 90013 with mostly MK2 coaches was the 12:25 from Euston? I believe this set then formed the 18:50 from Glasgow to Stockport - is that right?
