If I have already successfully transitioned from working in the office to working from home, I don't think I want to came back working on site anymore. The options and demand for those working from home is endless and is now growing. BPOs and govt should recognize that.

this is very true. government should focus on modern technology. It'll help county's economy big time and in the long run as well.

Lets face it. The only reason why they want us to go back to the office, is because they loose their tax breaks if we don't. Selfish mofos

We need to upgrade the digital skills/talent of our people, particularly in software development, coding, programming, etc. It should be balanced, we cant rely on BPO customer service as a long-term solution in solving unemployment in our country.

I think you have a slight misconception of the BPO industry only consisting of customer service tasks. While a major percentage of it is indeed deals with customer service, "back office" and "business to business" tasks are also under BPO tasks. Coding, software and hardware dev and programming are also BPO tasks. The term BPO itself (business process outsourcing) is basically companies overseas outsourcing labor to other countries.

@@Shindenize Sorry if I caused some confusion here. I know that there are several BPO's for coding, programming, etc. But I'm referring to the "voice" and "non-voice" BPO customer service skills. WE cant rely on a long-term solution in these skills. It helps but it will not last. It's about time to elevate the skills of Filipino coders similar to what India and Taiwan are doing.
