Consequently, Boyz II Men is among the music industry's elite with regard to time spent at number one in Billboard history with 50 cumulative weeks, ranking sixth behind Drake, the Beatles, Rihanna, Elvis Presley and Carey. Furthermore, when "On Bended Knee" took the number one spot away from "I'll Make Love to You", Boyz II Men became only the third artists ever (after the Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.[4] These achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard magazine's biggest boy band during the period of 1987 to 2012.[5] Boyz II Men has received four Grammy Awards.

I lived through the 1990s and witnessed a generation of music never to be repeated...but that's also true of every decade and generation. 1950s music will never be repeated. 60s, 70s, 80s... In the 2060s there will be middle-aged people who think fondly about 2020s music because it will always remind them of their childhood.

@@posysdogovych2065 exactly, as I was listening to this I just realized how many groups in Philly burst out from 86-93 in all genres. I played this song for a dear friend of mine who was from Philly in 2016 at a bar that was dead. I started dancing, he was loving it! Funny thing was there happened to be a wedding in the adjacent banquet room they had. People came out for an intermission, saw we were having more fun than they were, got invited to the wedding party, I started dancing on the dance floor by myself listening to the live band. Next thing you know, I was dragging everyone on the dance floor. Long story short, I got the party started...hahaha! Didn't even know the people! He passed away December of 2019, but I play this song in remembrance of one of the funnest, best times of our lives! RIP Grover, love and miss you dearly!!!

New Jack Swing: If Disco and Soul had a baby. ‘86 thru ‘94 was all that and a bag of chips. The 80s, 70s, and 90s, too: _Lived ‘em. Loved ‘em. Miss ‘em._
The trailer of the Waiting for Impact podcast reminded me of this. Still as enjoyable as it was back in the day
I'm 16, i've been told I'm weird for listening to this kind of music by my previous middle schoolers and now highschoolers, but when you grow up your entire life with parents that had THIS as their highschool music, it grows on you, and dear god is it good music.

JUNE 14, 2023. Who else is watching with me all the way from Lagos, NIGERIA? I might not recall the year this song was released but from the comments I read so far, it's likely this song was released before I was born. I was born 1991 and I am 32 years old now. How time flies though. Great song from BOYZ II MEN. I love them and listen to almost all their songs. Great guys.

That, and the optimism of the 90s as a youth. If you were growing up in America / Canada in the late 80s / early 90s, and you weren't poor, the world was mind-blowing and amazing. I loved the Americans the most, I just thought American people were incredible. America seemed so advanced compared to us in Canada for so long. There was peace in the world, the media wasn't weaponized 24/7, it was just before the internet. Life was simpler. This song embodies that perfectly, bless these men.

@@yuyuretro Yes, a few keywords. Like growing up, and not poor. But if you were one of the lucky ones, boy were you lucky. Because of that experience, I'm opening a school that's free in a country that has a poor education system. I know better than anyone how good we can make life, and I feel like it's my responsibility to pass it on in some way, or else I was never worthy of that experience.

So I listened to Elvis, John Denver, Bobby Vinton, and I could go on forever, and even though ‘70’s and ‘80’s are my favorites I even appreciate the ‘90’s! Boys to Men was one of my favorite go to bands when o wanted some dance music. I am so glad I came across this gem today!❤
