It is more scary to lose those you love than to lose yourself we accept we will one day die but it's hard to accept those we love will go. I'm struggling with this now my grandma passed today while I was at work I didnt get to say goodbye and it hurts so bad

My son passed away at 35 years old we always listen to this God help me get through this.

When it first came out, our friend "T" was taken from us way too early, he was 15 and stabbed to death. We played this song at his funeral. I'm going to be cremated and my boys know that I'm working on my song list all the time. Interesting how this song has evolved. When it 1st came out, it mostly spoke of relationships, not nec people passing. Overt time tho, this song has become sentimental. Classic song

My 14 year old son was taken from us on March 27, 2021 by a 24 year old DUI driver who got onto the highway into oncoming traffic. The driver fled on foot but was later captured by CHP helicopter and ground units about a mile away from the scene. My son was a 4.0 student and was a finalist to speak as a valedictorian for his 8th grade class. He also played in a premier soccer club. Tears roll down my cheeks as I type this and listen to this song. I will forever miss my son JJ.

This song hits hard for me, because of my best friend. He was murdered back in 2004. They say time heals all wounds, but it's been almost 20 years and the pain of losing him is still fresh in my mind.

Listening this shit with my eyes filled with water, I miss you and love you much Mama. Nothing can express just how much you meant to me or how much losing you hurt. 💔💔💔

This is the first time I’ve heard this song. Even after the first listen I had to stop everything around me and revisit my memories of being with my favorite aunt I lost to cancer in 2016 and the flood gates to my heart just opened. After years of trying to contain all the pain and sorrow this song is all it took to break me. If by some chance souls can read KZread comments. I miss you aunt Carolyn. I’m containing to make my art because you pushed me to use my god given talent but I still wish you were here to teach me and be just the most awesome aunt anyone could ask for.

I lost my Dad when he was only 57 - I took care of my mom for the rest of her life , and I lost her in September - and I just got the call that my cousin Pamala has died ; so this song really hits home for me.

I lost my mom a week ago. I am so grateful I got to have her for 35 years, but I really wished I had at least another 20. And I think that is the mistake we make as people. We expect to have that much longer with our loved ones. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed. My dad, siblings, and anyone who encountered my mom will have fond memories of such an amazing woman. ❤

I know your pain. My mother died August 26th, 2018, from pancreatic cancer three years ago. Believe it or not, I was such a wreck. I had always believed that she would beat it one day. Every time I think of her, I always think of how I always thought I’d see her in good health. But she’s up there with her mother and father and our ancestors and with the Good Lord Himself.

You always knew she'd pass someday, but you didn't think it would be now, so soon.... Lost my Mom in November of 2020 and it's the one that hit me hardest because I was a Mama's boy so I was super close to my Mom when she was alive...I don't got any wisdom for you...it sucks being grown, because you are cognizant of just how impactful losing your Mom is and you bear much more weight than if you were still a kid... Not saying kids have it better, but a lot is not made privy to them because they're children...I don't need to ask how you're doing, I kinda know, but at the same time, no one person's experience is the same as another's so I'll just tell you to just not drown.... Keep your head above the water.... That's all you can do, keep it moving and head above the water so you don't drown and I don't need to explain context so you should know what I mean... It's the one thing that you never realized you'd TRULY miss until it was gone because it was always there before....a mother's love...

Grew up in the hood as a kid, was the only lil white kid in our neighborhood, I was born in the late 70s, but remember in the early 90s, a good friend of mine, Greg was gunned down, come to find out he was shot to death because he was mistaken for his cousin, he was 15, was my best friend, he got the other kids on our block to take me in like family because when I first moved there they didn't care for me because I was a white kid. He use to laugh and make everyone smile. He loved baseball, we use to play all the time in the park behind our apartment complex. They played this song at his funeral and I always think back on him in the 90s. See you brother.

My dad was my best friend and truly the best person that I've ever met or know. It's been four years since he passed away and I still can't get over it. I still can't see pictures or video of him, or I break down. I miss him so much. He was such a loving father, and life will never quite be the same without him.
